Maybe Grandma knew all along what science hasn't proven yet. Get ready for me to spill some tea on hot tea on this week's Wednesday checkup! By the way, this warning is really applicable to all drinks and even soup!

If you have an idea of something you want me to cover in depth, please let me know because I take your requests seriously. We will be back with more Medical Drama Review Series & Responding to Comments so please submit more names of shows/episodes & Questions you'd like for me to watch. Love you all!

Not drinking hot beverages must be a new grandma thing. I never heard anyone's grandma in my generation saying such a thing.

As a rule of thumb: Just don't drink/eat anything that hurts or is uncomfortable to do so.

As a British man, I gotta say... I reject your advice on how I should drink my tea.

Now let us fight, I'll bring the Scones!!

Generally as a rule: I’ll sip it while it’s hot very briefly... and as soon as it’s cooled down to warm I’ll practically just down it all at once.

Fortunately I always forget about my tea until it's lukewarm 😏.

Interestingly, I was always scolded for waiting for my food and drinks to cool down enough. I'm overtly sensitive to high-temp stuff, like people drink my tea and tell me it's "cold", but for me it's "just barely cool enough to drink".

As an Indian I've never heard of a granny ever telling the kids to not drink hot drinks. In fact they always made it extra hot 😂

As a researcher, thank you for taking the time to explain the difference between causal and correlation to everyone!!!

The China study had a similar issue. It found a higher incidence of esophageal cancer in people who drank more hot tea but only in those who also drank alcohol every day or smoked. It is plausible that drinking hot beverages might raise esophageal cancer risk if combined with smoking or alcohol consumption. But the study did not find that hot tea alone had that effect.

I actually checked the temp of my coffee this morning. No esophageal cancer for me!

Correlation DOES NOT MEAN Causation!! Doctor Mike please say it every video- even within my Psychology program some still think correlation and association means causation
