In this anxiety hack video I use how you can use the simple 'If....then....' technique to reduce worries. This is a technique commonly used as part of cognitive behavioural therapy but simple enough for anyone to use. It can be used by children or adults and you can do it yourself or you can support someone else to use this idea.

Do you find this strategy helpful? Please leave a comment sharing your ideas for using it - what are your 'if.... thens...?'?

Let Lem know if you have ideas you think I could add to the series.

Hey Pooky, just wanted to say thank you for making these videos, the strategies might not work for everyone, all the time but they offer something tangible for those floundering with their anxiety, often the naming an emotion is half the work to taming it (yeah I nicked that from you too!)

I come back to this time after time. Even when you think I know this, I need to re-vist. Excellently and expertly described in language that is real.

Thanks for this. Definitely have a student in mind that I am working with who will benefit from this technique.

This is a really helpful strategy which I find successful the majority of the time when working with students. However, I am really curious to know how this can transfer to the current situation when the worry and fear is related to Covid and 'if I come back to school then I could pass Covid on to someone and they might die' This is a situation difficult to plan for and reduce anxiety.
