you also need to know when to run. you need to know when to press, when to drop back, when to sprint, and where on the field you should be . if you just have the basic level of fitness, that would be all you need in a semi-pro/ saturday football level (except for maybe midfield position).
If you know where to go, find space, etc, you will find you actually don't have to run much, other than the occasional 50 meter dashes.

DO NOT DO INTERVALLS BAREFOOT!! Your running form will be ruined. For better recovery do ice baths, stretch, good warmup, sleep and eat healthy. To strengthen your foot, do rehab and prehab exercises and play football barefoot but not running!!
