my coach used to make us do these things he called "indian runs" idk if they are called something else, but everyone would run in a single file line, and the person in the back would have the ball, and they would sprint with the ball up to the front of the line, and then lay it off for the person it last, and we had to do that until everyone went through the line 3 times. pure torture

As a distance runner, you just want to build your aerobic base. Run slow for longer periods of time for more endurance. You can work in strides sometimes since there is some faster movement in soccer, but you just need miles.

As an elite runner, I can confirm this is a great way to build sprint endurance. Keep sprinting hard as fast as you can for every long side and you need to push it to extend that endurance or you won’t get better.

Trust when it’s not in season do long distance track, you might not be good at it but the long distance training works and you improve a lot

We called them Diagos, where we ran corner flag to flag diagonally and then had the short line to recover. We had to do 8-12 after every training session and it helped our stamina so much!!!

At that
Practice freekicks
(Put the ball on edge of box, then abit farther, then a bit farther again till youve reach perfection)
Practice shooting
(5 long shots, 5 powershots, 5 normal, 5 volleys inside the box, 5 volleys out side the box)
Practice passing
(Five short passes to a target like a cone, 5 long passes into the goal for reference, and always practice till you can to long passes to cones.)
5 Penalties
(Practice run ups and try to be qith a friend goalkeeper to practice)

you can also do cross country if they have it at your school! it’ll increase your stamina. i did cross country before a soccer season n my stamina was amazing!

It is also very helpful for all the middle and long distance runners out there.
You can include this workout for like 3-4 days a week, for 10-25 based on your current stamina.
