the problem with sparring and why I stopped, is at some point it's much less useful/diminish return in progress to just use 70% of your force. It's just not realistic anymore. the speed isn't there, the threat isn't there. The mentality isn't the same. So you have to dial it to 80, 85, but at that force level, is when you and your sparring partner actual really feel legit buzz when get hit on the head. So for the sake of long term brain health, and you just want to do it for fitness, there is a pretty low ceiling. (anyone says protective gears...no comment)

Quick not3e on the breathing. I expressed frustration with my stamina despite training hard all the time. A guy that studied Jeet Kune do told me that I might be breathing backwards. I inhaled with my stomach going in and exhaled while my stomach went out. Not sure how much difference it made but being relaxed is a big part of stamina. I always got tired twice as fast in fights as I did in sparring.
