Scientists are using mood drugs to help adults learn new skills as quickly as a baby.

Watch the video to see results from research which studied pills typically used for Alzheimer's and epilepsy.

The Harvard professor conducting the research around these pills said that their main interest is not really to create super humans, but to help with ailments like poor vision and hearing. But is it inevitable that everyone will want to get their hands on these pills regardless of if they need them?

I think the best use would be to use the pill along side going to school and studying so you remember what you were taught.

Every child is born an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.

Babies actually learn amazingly. There are many things that you can only learn as a baby and have the same degree of skill. People who never learn a language by a certain age never have the same skill in speaking the rest of us do. Having pills that make you learn like a baby could allow someone to learn a language to the point of being able to think in that language in only a few years.

Pills like this could be the path toward everyone being like those savant children.

I just wonder what an average college student can do with any of those pills. I guess math classes would be more easy

I think they are  talking about neuroplasticity. The ability to learn languages, math, music at the at the ability of the child, and that is an exciting thing.

Maybe it would help in areas of learning new languages that always seem tougher for older people.

I think I read or herd that kids learn faster because they don't question what is taught. They don't need to understand it, they just roll with it. Great for languages, bad for learning about say, business or religion.

A pill restored someone's eyesight?! Kinda envious of that. Would give anything to have my bad eye working.

The co-hosts are horrible. The lady justifies her opinions not using any evidence, but her own personal lack of understanding the subject. I dont understand it so it has to be bad statement.

In our defense... taking a pill to consume the entire knowledge of a book sounds cool...

This is nothing new. Students already pop Ritalin to help them stay awake and focus on their studies.

This is just a different medication that works on acetyl-choline to that helps the person remember and learn. It basically helps with cognitive function, as long as you have the neurological structures intact (people with dementia no may no longer have enough synapses for this medication to work, as you need the synapses to bind to ACh.
