I do my best with exercise but it’s really not universal for those of us with physically disabling comorbidities… ableism again. The exercise I can manage (even small amounts) wears me out for the rest of that day and doesn’t help my ADHD symptoms at all.

When he said you cant concentrate but you kinda don't care, I felt that.

But do you? Do you have adhd or add? My experience has been when discussing my ADD with professionals is that they ignore my individual experience in favor of scientific literature. And yet using that information they continue to throw spaghetti against the wall and hope it sticks. Of all the medications, talk therapy and junk science thrown at me, the best result has been a reduction of anxiety in public spaces. Thats it, thats all.
I go to sleep with AdHD and I wake up with ADHD. In the morning, within the time it takes to walk to the bathroom, ADHD has taken over. No instruction, training, life skills or white paper overcomes that. I have a unique perspective thanks to my early life style in which my symptoms didnt take over until my mid 40's. And the difference between those days and these days is like an invasion of my mind. So when when guys like this stand up and say do this or that and you can manage your ADHD, I get angry. You dont know. You cant know. All you can do is regurgitate some elses crap. Maybe what you are talking about will work with the 50% of us that the medication works on, but the rest of us just hate the falsehood that people like you perpetuate. The falsehood that its manageable. Because what ends up happening is denial of our disabilities and the help we need. We get forced to undergo a treatment over a year or two that goes no where but in the end just leads to a different one that takes another year or two, all so some normie can continue to deny services or supports. So, if you want to help, try not trying to convince us that this or that helps when it doesnt.
There's no cure, no magic bullet, so stop bullshitting. We have found our coping mechanisms and it doesnt matter if they fit your idea of how our lives should be, they are what they have to be.
Also, the ADHD brain consumes Glucose at a 50% higher rate than the Neurotypical brain and that is where carbs become important. They are safer than our typical go to for glucose, high fructose sugars, which lead to diabetes. And if you think managing ADHD is tough, add diabetes to that mix. So please, just stop. I used think like you, that science has the answer, that A leads to B which leads to C. In the case of ADHD, the complexity of individual manifestation, A leads to B which leads to a new problem set. It is just an unwinable game of wack a mole.

While I have known for years that sugar is bad with ADHD, this is the first time it's been explained why and how that works. Thank you.

Well you don't have it and the dopamine thing is a myth and the dietitian and the Gp don't recommend cutting out carbs.

What if I have depression, ADHD, anxiety, OCD, mania, and paranoia? I may need to moderate my neurotransmitter levels. Balance my brain chemistry and function. Too much or too little of any is going to lead to problems.

I strongly disagree with the carbs point, because providing the brian with sufficient glucose is crucial for executive function particularly for those with ADHD

The problem is not about not knowing what to do. It's about DOING what I know....
