How to Use USB BIOS Flashback Tool
So you want to update or flash your bios firmware on your motherboard? You will need a flash drive formatted to FAT32. Then you will need the BIOS firmware from the motherboard manufactures website. This works for ASUS motherboards and MSI motherboards.

Yes Brian I have always wondered why the BIOS cannot be flashed via simple download avoiding the use of flash drives seeing how technology has been progressing.

I flashed the Bios on my PC with a straight download from the official website worked very well

Not everyone has that functionality from on their desktop computer I recommend that you install the bios program on the flash drive reboot the machine and let it do its thing

If you brick your motherboard bios (for example in a power surge), can't you use the same method to fix the bios afterwards?

Easy error to make is to press the bios flash button when the computer is running. it is mostly needed to be powered up but not running!

I can't seem to have my motherboard load the TPM I have enabled everything I could and windows 10 still can't it, but it says it has one I've given up, for now, a lot of categories and sections in this MSI motherboard, still studying it.

If one is formatting a thumb drive over 16 gigs and using a Windows machine, fat 32 will not be an option. Windows won't format any drive in Fat 32 that is overc16 gigs.

I jumped in fingers crossed for good measure !!! !! It went well ....so far, now the wait till Wednesday for the 7900xtx and then install the operating system and drivers Thanks again ...the ddr5 is now working at 5600 instead of 4800 !!

You have to wonder why there is a need to rename the file. They could supply the download as a zipped file, with the motherboard specified in the name of the zip. Inside the zip file, the BIOS image could be correctly named already, with a text file giving instructions.. Then all you need to do is extract and copy the BIOS image file to a thumb drive. The additional step of renaming the file adds greater opportunity to screw it up. Unless there is more going on behind the scenes than merely renaming the file. The official renaming tool might be doing some sort of file integrity test at the same time.

Hello, I am about to do bios update and some tweaking on my ASUS board and have some quetions :
1. If my system wont boot up due to bad tweaking (RAM settings or other), and i am no longer able to access BIOS, can I possibly just use this method to Flashback bios from USB (same version) ??? Will that work ? I would dodge the CMOS battery /header reset.
2. Lets say I want to go back to previous version of BIOS, if the new one is not stable. Is this still possible with this Flashback USB method ?
