How to Flash your Motherboard BIOS/UEFI
How to Update AM4 Motherboard BIOS
How to Update Asus Motherboard Bios

While building a PC recently using an old Asus Strix X470-F Gaming motherboard I found I needed to update my BIOS/UEFI because the BIOS version on it (version 5406) did not support Ryzen 50000 CPU's. In the past and on other platforms (cough Intel) this would have meant I needed to purchase an entirely new motherboard. With their AM4 socket though AMD, in conjunction with it's board partners, have done us PCDIYers a solid and have provided BIOS/UEFI updates to older 300 (A320, B350, X370) and 400 (B450, X470) series motherboards making it possible for us to upgrade to the latest AM4 Ryzen chips without having to upgrade our motherboards. If you've never updated your motherboard BIOS before, no need to fear, it's a very easy process and in this video I show a super simple method to find out your motherboard make, model and current BIOS version and walk you through step by step on how to download your motherboards most recent BIOS/UEFI revision and how to flash/update your motherboards BIOS.

Perfect video for what I needed. I have that exact board and learning tech can be overwhelming sometimes since I grew up poor and never had the luxury. Thanks for this upload & getting straight into it

I gotta say. Thank you for this very comprehensive and simple, but very effective video. I've had a motherboard issue where my games crash constantly. After this BIOS update, it has been running incredibly smoothly with not a single crash afterwards. Thank you so much! Highly recommended video for this very purpose!

I know the videos 2 years old but the basic instructions of the video helped me out a lot when trying to update my BIOS. World of Warcraft gave me an error saying I needed to update it and it kept crashing on me. So here I am! Thanks so much dude.

I didn’t save my previous BIOS settings, and I almost had a heart attack when Windows wasn’t starting right after the update. Thankfully, I figured out the old settings needed to run Windows normally. I should’ve saved the old settings anyway, just like you said. Thank you for the great tutorial!
And let this be a warning to anyone else thinking of not noting down the old settings, even if you don’t have any custom settings, make sure you do.

Just updated my bios. My motherboard is a Gigabyte B650M C V2-Y1. Thanks! This was a simple tutorial.
I have a new computer because the next day some component was causing the psu to power cycle. Imma try and update this one's bios again if it needs updating.
