I am completely stuck with trying this.
When I use a bootable USB stick, I get "cannot be done in DOS mode".
When I try to run the update by right click on the .exe on my desktop, nothing happens ( I don't see "run as administrator" as expected ), also with CMD and Powershell (as admin) I fail.
Having a Dell Vostro 1510 on Windows 10 home 64 bit.
Which other procedure is available, please?

I have a external hardrive with a back up from a hp laptop w windows on it that I would like to retrieve the files off of but I can't seem to figure what to do to open the files like music files and pictures. Do I have to use a pc w windows 7 on it or is there another way?

I have my own computer with hdd 80gb.

I also had a hp 255 g1 laptop with ssd 250gb and installed windows 7 + some icons and songs.

What I would like to ask is how I connected the ssd to the windows7 software on Optiplex managed and found it hard and showed me the bios windows7 operating system.

But unfortunate it doesn't let me get on the work surface. Can I have a boot usb to make it play?

Is there any answer to this problem ??

Found ssd reports functional but when I press F1 it repeats itself and does not continue ...

i installed unbuntu
but as I was finished with the installation and turned the case of and than on I couldnt get access to the unbuntu
I got the same routine as before
As if I never installed the Unbuntu
