Why Calvinism Hurts Unbelievers

Calvinists don't like to admit this, but sometimes unbelievers can adopt the Calvinistic way of thinking and start to believe that, if God is real, they must not be chosen to believe.

This can be a stumbling block for people God truly desires a relationship with and has provided for.

If you really want people to hate and reject Christianity, and push them away from Jesus, preach Calvinism at them. They will rightly reject it, and often throw out the baby with the bathwater.

Satan and Calvin are bosom buddies in this regard, with Calvin being Satan's mole and wolf in sheep's clothing on the inside of the church, convincing believers into shutting it off to all, with explicit doctrines that it's only for a few.

It's dark, but the devil is dark, and flourishes and advances himself on denial and suppression of Christ's truth and love. This is the perfect doctrine to advance falsehood in the church and corrupt it from within.

Don't be a useful pawn by closing your eyes to the truth of the Gospel. Believe in the God who so loves you and all that He became one of us and died the most horrific death on earth in order to save all of us from our own sin. He didn't do that for His own glory - He sacrificed His glory for our sake. That is what the scriptures mean when they say that God is love - the highest form of love, agape, is self-sacrificial, caring nothing for its own glory. That is what the crucifixion is and means - heaven is an open door, and an open church, not a members-only country club.

The scriptures say that God is love, not that God is pride - if you have a problem with that or it makes you uncomfortable, you are the one with the problem, not the Christian with working eyes and a functioning brain who points it out to you. If you believe that, then the Bible is your enemy, not the rest of Christianity. Attack God's word, not those who understand it and preach it.

Leighton says those who reject Gods grace are being "judicially hardened" by God so they can't believe, like Pharaoh.
Leightons testimony in this speech reveals he thinks he "chose freely" to open his own eyes, which is "supressing the Truth" that it's Gods grace THAT OPENS their eyes, thus Leightons own words will be used against him at the judgment.

Don't be like Leighton and "chose" to believe you "chose" to open your own eyes, but rather praise God for actually opening your eyes by His effectual grace.
