Once again I find myself asking "did he even answer the question?"

Great short answer! He should add Hebrews 3.12-14 in there as well!

It's unfortunate to me that Wright, a brilliant scholar, would begin to answer that question by saying it's a 17th century question, then diminishing the Calvinist perspective, and then giving a personal application without taking a doctrinal stance. Wright has done so much good work. And he thinks so quickly on his feet. Why wouldn't he just answer the question?

Really wish he would have elaborated more here, there are basically 0 other videos of him talking about this topic.

I believe Dr. Tim is getting Anglican on us at this point. Jesus makes it very clear without innuendo, doublespeak, or confusion, that in no uncertain terms ‘ and of all that the Father has given to me, I will not lose one, except the son of perdition’ doesn’t simply apply to 12 people he was talking to in a moment of time. If one wants to literally take the ‘all that the Father has given to me’ in a literal, wooden sense, I can’t help you. Of course we cannot go into the assurances a believer has here; suffice to say it’s not so much the perseverance of the saints that is ultimately crucial, though of course we must ‘pummel’, and pummel often; it’s the preservation of the saints by pleading the grace of God that finishes the ‘good work that is within us, until the Day of our Lord Jesus Christ ‘.

Of course you can. The bible is clear on apostasy

There are good reasons why one would answer the question this way, by not answering the question. Politicians do this all the time.

If you are truly born again, you will not loose your salvation.

Romans 11:6 reveals that it is grace v works (sin), so when it is of sin you fall from grace. #1 'Myths in so-called Christianity' from my Ytube site of 'Simon John Skinner'.

Cowardly response. JESUS loses no sheep.
