I was born in to a narcissistic family and dated multiple narcissistic types throughout my life and was diagnosed with CPTSD with narcissistic traits and behaviors also boarder line personality disorder. I use to think I was a empath but now believe I just learned to read people as a survival technique.

Mental abuse is far more dangerous than I ever believed. I have health issues
from old age and thinking I could handle the tough situations I was in. No one is
that tough...not on their own...I needed help and had no idea that these videos
you and others put out. would be the shield and sword I needed to feel good again.

My ex was an abused child, and now as an adult she exhibits narcissistic traits. I know there is some content out there, which seems new in the last few years, about how adults with untreated CPTSD can become emotionally abusive themselves. There is a dance here of adults with CPTSD having narcissistic traits, but at the same time pointing to everyone around them and calling them abusive. It is INCREDIBLY confusing. Dr. R, I hope you will talk more about this.

Thank you for doing these videos. I genuinely believe that what you're doing is very important work; something this world deeply needs. I think so many of our social and interpersonal problems would be essentially solved, if only we were more psychologically healthy and aware. Again, thank you. Love and safety to you and yours.

How do you deal with a narcissistic con artist? My ex boyfriend was never violent with me or ever raised his voice. He is very loving and very charming. Thank God he broke up me a month ago, but I am still dealing with the emotions. I mean maybe it's me that attracts these kind of people who have these traits. I want change and maybe I need to change myself to get that.

I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH COMPLEX PTSD AND SENT TO THE PSYCHOLOGIST IN THE OFFICE WHO I
LAUGHED WITH AND SHE WAS SUPPORTIVE BUT NEVER ENLIGHTENING.., .I FOUND THAT NO ONE
COULD HELP ME BECAUSE ALL I COULD DO WAS BABBLE AND COULD NOT FOCUS - THE REST OF THE
TIME I SLEPT ...I MOVED BACK TO FLA FROM DC... I DIDNT BLAME ANYONE FOR NOT WANTING TO
TALK TO ME. I COUKDNT EVEN EXPLAIN WHAT HAPPENED AND NO ONE UNDERSTOOD - OH AND I
COULDNT READ FOR ABOUT 5 YRS ANDI STILL HAVE A PROBLEM PROCESSING INFO TOOK
MY LAWYER MADE ME FEEL WORSE AND HE ENDED UP WITH MY SETTLEMENT. MY FRIENDS TREATED
ME LIKE I WAS CRAZY SO I QUIT TALKING TO THEM AND IT WAS THE SAME WITH MY FAMILY AND EVERY THERAPIST I MET. IF I COULD ONLY HAVE TALKED TO YOU SO YOU COULD HAVE TOLD ME WHAT TO DO....

I cannot bring myself to read this because I am a parent who failed to protect her children. [ actually believed that his dysfunctional family was better than mine. So, already isolated me grew more so.
And my children's father cares more about himself than them.
I went along.
They hate me.
And, while I am partially responsible, I am deeply disappointed ..

@DoctorRamani - love your channel and the work you do helping people suffering from abuse. Not sure if you are going to reply to my question but I thought it would be still worth giving it a shot. The problem I have is trying to understand how a CPTSD, NPD and BPD relate to each other. I understand that without a proper diagnosis it might be difficult to answer but what people with BPD experience is awfully similar to what a victim of NPD partner experiences. How do you distinguish what is what? It is easy to blame another person of narcissistic traits (nearly all have some of those) but it could very well be that someone can perceive the other person as narcissistic person whereas they themselves suffer from BPD? And on top of that, if it is very likely that someone developed CPTSD, how is one to navigate to understand if they perhaps ended up in a toxic relationship with a NPD (talking especially about the covert type) partner or the problem lays with them? Is it possible that CPTSD can result in BPD?

24 years, 2 domestic violence cases. Came back. Lack of evidence. We are living in same house. He will not seek therapy, that tells me he is on the way out
