Jordan Peterson gives his thoughts on his daughter’s divorce

Clinical psychologist and public intellectual Dr Jordan Peterson says he has “objections” to divorce but supports his daughter's decision to leave her unhappy marriage.

Mikhaila Peterson divorced her ex-husband due to a poor relationship and has since remarried in 2022.

“I’m able to let my children handle the complexity of their own private lives,” Dr Peterson told Sky News Australia host Piers Morgan.

“I had faith that she would sort things out … I was willing to give her space.

“I believe she is oriented to find her way ... I’m willing to stand back and watch her and to provide whatever help I can along the way.”

The first time I heard Jordan Peterson's name mentioned, the implication was that he was a jerk and a woman-hater. I have been listening to him for a few months, looking for something to disagree with and I can't find a single thing. Everything he says makes sense. And look at how lovely he is here with his daughter. I adore this man and the way he fights for truth.

Why do they even discuss that? Why did Mikhaila become such an important part of JP's public profile? He was famous without her hanging in the background but she wouldn't have been famous without him. And now, instead of doing his JP's thing, he is turning into his own daughter''s spokesperson and elaborating on her private life. P. S. That girl should rethink her dresscode if she wants to be taken seriously. Her wedding dress spoke volumes about her principles and values. I wondered how JP felt seeing his daughter dressed like that.

I don’t think this was a fair question to ask Jordan. If he disagrees with his daughter’s divorce then he publicly humiliates her and if he shows support then he is seen as a hypocrite.

I know he’s all for speaking the truth but he shouldn’t be expected to voice his disapproval of his daughter’s actions on national television with her sitting right next to him.

I think she is young and immature. Her values are not really Jordan's at this point. All of that plastic surgery, lip fillers, and low cut tops (always)- speak to insecurity, as well.

I don't know if it's only me but I've always seen institution of Marriage as an Act of service. A service which demands sacrifices and adjustments on personal level, in order to achieve similar goals.
Not a fun vacation but a long journey filled with all sorts of emotions and Virtuousness.

You guys ever heard of the term "bariatric divorce"? It's when someone gets bariatric surgery, looses a lot of weight *permanently* as a result of that, and suddenly ends up being far higher in status than their spouse due to their new-found attractiveness. It actually *doubles* the chance of divorce.

We obviously don't know what's up with Mikhaila Peterson, and it isn't even up to us to judge, but that's still the first thing that springs to mind on this topic.

We know that she's been severely depressed *and* physically frail her entire life due to her autoimmune disorder. But now that has basically been cured. On top of that, she seems done with the trouble of having a small child, she now seems firmly settled in her career, we know her father isn't on the brink of death anymore, and all the controversy around the Petersons seem to have calmed down as well.

She's of much higher status than she would have been when she first married, her life finally appears to be stable now - and suddenly she divorces and remarries within just a year? That just smells like trading up. That's the opposite of the loyalty Dr. Peterson preaches.

I'm a fan of JP but Mikhaila seems to go against everything he espouses. Vain, materialistic, money driven and has flipped from one marriage to another in a very short period of time. I would guess that this marriage will go similarly to the previous one.
