The 5 Stages of Hashimoto's (PREVENT #5 At All Costs)

These are the 5 stages that every patient with Hashimoto's thyroiditis will ultimately go through unless they do something to stop them:

Stage 1. Immune cell infiltration: During this stage, you will not have any symptoms or see any abnormal changes on your thyroid lab tests.

Stage 2. Subclinical hypothyroidism: During this stage, you will start to feel run down but you most likely won't realize you have a thyroid problem. This is the BEST stage to catch your disease in.

Stage 3. True hypothyroidism: In this stage, you will experience big symptoms and you will see abnormal thyroid lab tests. Most patients get diagnosed here.

Stage 4. Additional autoimmune diseases: Over the next several years to decades you may develop additional autoimmune diseases.

Stage 5. End-stage Hashimoto’s: Ultimately, after 5-20 years, your thyroid will be completely destroyed by your immune system and you will end up in this stage.

You should do everything in your power to prevent the complete destruction of your thyroid gland using both natural and medical therapies.

Most doctors are clueless when it comes the ACTUALLY understanding the thyroid, but this guy gets it! 🙌

MD's need to go back to school! Most don't even know how to order the right tests or recognize the symptoms or that very high cholesterol is a symptom.

I had hypothyroidism as a child from hoshimottos. I was extremely sick but my mother took me to a i think “holistic” doctor and he gave me a “remedy” that made most of my issues go away. In the 8th grade i started to get red bumps in my skin and by 10th grade i was sick of it so i started experimenting with my diet. After i stopped gluten and dairy my not only did the red bumps go away but i was much less lethargic and more attentive in class.

Most people don't know anything is wrong until it is pretty advanced...

Spot on👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 When I went to my Dr with a complaint of Hives, requesting a (skin prick) allergy test, which was clear, He took one look at me and ordered blood tests, while recommending immediate gluten avoidance and dietary restriction.
My Dr has retired now and I am very grateful for your advice and tips on how to adjust my personal care to keep my health as best as I can.

I am on stage 3 and they just said that no adjustments are needed with the meds I have. If I don't take B12 daily, I will not make it through the day. I need to know what my next step is to start going backward. Your information has been the best so far, but I found you just a week ago and have not watched all your posts yet. looking forward to learning more.

This is painful. I went to my doctor a few times and was told I was depressed. I deteriorated and ended up having to have my thyroid removed. I am now dependent on drugs for my life ! Grrr 😖

Yeah they didn't diagnose me until I ended up with cancer and had to remove it completely and life turned to hell since then. That's where I finally heard ups l had Hashimoto that my doctor just ignored unfortunately

You didn't mention thyroid nodules. What stage do they occur in while thyroid tests are normal?

I'm 27 and had a heart attack in May and they found my enlarged thyroid, and went back to some other CTs of my head from before and saw I've been having problems w it since I was 14 when I had CHF. I have stage 4 endometriosis resulting in a bowel obstruction needing emergency surgery, a hysterectomy at 22, a pulmonary embolism at 23, and finally the heart attack this may and my pcp told me I had Graves disease and hoshimotos but I'm going to a specialist for a 2nd opinion. I take 25mcg of synthroid and I have had certain symptoms improve but others get worse.

Vitamin D3 with K2?
Selenium?
Zinc?
Black seed oil?
Synthroid?
All the above?
Anything else?
I have an appt with the ENT
doctor next month. My thyroid ultrasound/biopsy came back as "consistent with Hashimoto's thyroiditis."

What treatment are you referring to? apart from dietery changes and hormone replacement I haven't heard of any "treatment" for the actual disease... only ways to deal with the symptoms.

How did I go from Graves in Jan 2020, RAI in Dec 2020, Unithyroid Rx until Feb 2023 when I was put on Synthroid, now I'm told I have Hashimoto's thyroiditis?! My TSH is 0.064. What is going on? Oh, I also have thyroid eye disease.
