Three Signs You Are in End Stage Hashimoto’s

Here are three signs you may be in end stage Hashimoto’s. End stage Hashimoto’s is what happens if you don’t take any steps to try and treat your condition and it is the result of complete thyroid gland destruction. When this occurs, you will experience very specific and unique symptoms. Symptoms which may indicate you are in end stage Hashimoto’s includes: 1. Thyroid gland atrophy. As the thyroid gland becomes permanently damaged, it will shrink in size. This should be differentiated from early stage Hashimoto’s which may cause your thyroid gland to increase in size. You can check the size of your thyroid gland with an ultrasound. 2. Your thyroid antibodies may reduce. This sounds like a good thing but it isn’t. The reason they drop is because they’ve run out of thyroid gland tissue to destroy. 3. The inability to lose weight or extreme weight loss resistance. Your thyroid controls your metabolism which then regulates your weight. Once you are in end stage Hashimoto’a, you are reliant on thyroid medication which is never as good as the real thing. As a result, patients in this situation always have trouble losing weight. Even if you are in end stage Hashimoto’s, though, all hope is not lost.
You can still use treatments to see some improvement in your symptoms. #hashimotos #hashimotosthyroiditis #hashimotosdisease #hashimotosweightloss #thyroidsymptoms

Dr Childs has helped me understand my thyroid problems much better than my doctor ever could. These videos are a blessing to us all, for sure.
But, am I the only one who thinks Dr Childs is extremely good looking, as well as knowledgeable? Don't be offended! I can't be the only one? (Sorry, had to say it, Doc. )

Thank you, it's hard to find info about this! Sadly I didn't even know I had a thyroid problem until after my thyroid was atrophic

I wish I had known about your blog and resources years before I found them, but I'm super glad I did find them b/c they've allowed me to identify and work with great health care providers who were willing to look beyond what they called 'required standard of care' (which was basically to do nothing more than minimum). Unfortunately I'm well into end stage hashi's - ultrasound a few years back could barely see my thyroid gland, little to no anitbodies, and between middle age/menopause and being reliant on meds/supplements its super tough to lose weight. It takes constant adjustments and analysis of labs, how I feel, etc. to keep on top of auto-immune disease and I can't say enough good about how your resources have helped me do that.

20 percent of my thyroid remains, per ultrasound. I take iodine supplements and am on a keto diet. I was started on Armour thyroid when I was twelve, then was switched to levothyroxine. Now, years later it looks I should have done more preventatively. What more can I do?
Thanks for all of your information!

If one's thyroid has atrophied, should they be taking only T3?

lol doctors here wont even diagnose whether or not you have Hashomotos. I had to go to a private company to do a blood test and deduce it myself based off of the consultant and the super high antibodies.

You will still have Hashimoto's if they remove your thyroid. It never goes away.

Is end-stage Hashimoto's Disease inevitable, or does early treatment prevent end-stage from developing?

Could you please share more information about infrared saunas and hashimotos. There is not much information out there. I felt great the first 2 weeks using the sauna and then hit a wall after 2 weeks. I am not sure if I should be using binders and which ones. What is the best electrolyte powder since i have food sensitivities and insulin resistance etc. would be great if you could cover some of this information. Thanks.
