TIMESTAMPS:
0:00 Foods You'll Avoid After You Know How It's Made (Part 4)
0:24 Pretzels
1:48 Non-fat salad dressings
2:59 Products made from corn
4:10 Sugar-free desserts
5:44 Cheese-flavored snacks
6:48 Blended fruit yogurts
8:06 Refined grains
9:19 Fruit canned in syrup
10:21 Rice cakes
11:25 High-fiber bars

SUMMARIES:
- All that salt on the pretzels isn't good for you at all, and the flour used to make the pretzels is nothing more than glorified sugar.
- That salad dressing you've been buying may not contain fat, but it is loaded with sugar.
- You should steer clear of corn oil, high fructose corn syrup, dextrose, and maltodextrin.
- Sugar-free desserts are loaded with chemicals.
- The one thing that many cheese snacks have in common is MSG, but that's not the worst by any means.
- The problem with blended fruit yogurts is that they're loaded with sugar.
- Try to eat whole-grain foods that haven't had all of their healthy goodness stripped from them.
- If you do buy canned fruit, buy the version that isn’t packed in syrup.
- Rice cakes are not necessarily as healthy as you think they are.
- These bars may be high in fiber, but they're also filled with sugar as well. Some high-fiber bars have as much sugar as a candy bar.

My grandmother had one scoop of ice cream before she went to bed everymigjt. She lived to be 99 and 3/4 yrs. old. She had cholesterol in the 300's and her mind was sharp as a tack.

I went to culinary arts college and part of the courses is to understand and see how fast foods are made like they say if you only new what was in your food.

Just based on what I know about the various sugar chains...Corn syrup is mostly Fructose, which not only requires additional effort from the body to break down, the highest concentration of the required compounds are in the liver.
Whereas for Glucose, which forms 50% of Regular Sugar's Sucrose molecule, can be directly consumed by every cell in the body, & the Sucrose molecule is broken apart easily with just a small quantity of water. Which basically means that half of the compound is immediately capable of direct distribution without needing any further processing. Which obviously isn't the case when the source is mostly fructose, which while sweeter tasting, is only healthy in conjunction with commensurate fiber quantities and additional water consumption. That's why they say fresh fruit is healthy, but juice isn't healthy. Juice is the fructose (along side various other sugars and compounds) from fruit without the associated fiber...& the processing it has gone through has negated some of it's nutritional value as well.
Sugar is still 50% Fructose, so your body still has to make an effort to break that sugar chain down, and add in the fact that it has minimal, at best, in terms of micronutrients included...and no fiber...it's still not that good for you... It just has more directly consumable sugar chains than corn syrup... Especially High Fructose Corn Syrup.

I’ve never been able to drink diet drinks. They have always made me vomit, like as soon as it hits my stomach. I did it on accident a couple of times during my childhood and while I was a teen. Got sick both times. As an adult I tried one to see if it was still the same...it is lol. Oh btw, I love pretzels from Auntie Annies so that won’t be stopping any time soon lol.

One of my friend's dad was a corn farmer. Such good memories of fresh white or sweet corn at a cookout. And later, finding out it's good for the ears and has been part of the line up @ KFMA Day!

The key is to choose better alternatives and to realize that other countries are much healthier while they still eat as many carbs as they want they just make sure to throw vegetables in with every meal so just do your best and avoid the rest.

I make 2 pieces of white toast covered with lashings of butter, then covered with a large tin of COLD baked beans topped by 4 fried eggs. Then I drizzled HP brown sauce all over it! I normally have this for my Friday morning breakfast just before travelling to work. This is the best farting fodder ever and a great ice breaker for our Friday morning managers meetings and the fire alarm drills we carry out. So far I have only farted and followed through twice a year over 10 years!

I think when you get older, your palate changes. I used to eat canned fruit growing up because thats what school lunches serve. Occasionally mom packed it for us too. I haven't eaten it in forever. Before quarantine happened, I went to a kids party and they passed out those mandarin oranges in a cup. It was just soaked in syrup and I couldn't believe I used to love eating that.

Fun fact: do your mouth and lips sting when you eat pineapple?
It's because pineapples have meat-desolving enzymes and are technically eating you while you eat it
