I still haven't mastered rev matching. I ride a z400 and really love it a lot. I need to still learn the rpms before shifting and know when to downshift. Its like 4-6 rpm range but my downshifts still are a thing

i still dont do rev matching well, but i gently release the gear clutch so even you dont do rev match the bike will smoothly downshift.

so let's say you're at gear 5, then you're coming to a stop, can you squeeze the clutch one time and then shift 4x all the way down to first gear?

Motorcycle gearbox is not synchronized like a car transmission I understand? You have to match the engine revs to the gear you are changing down to otherwise you can stall and lock the rear wheel? I am learning about motorcycle riding so not sure.

Let’s say I’m in 4th gear and I pull the clutch all the way in when I come to a complete stop, then can I shift down to 1st gear or put it in neutral? Is this okay too?

Do i have to let go of the clutch after each shift or do i just hold it in and slowly shift down to 1st? Msf course only taught me how to get to and from 2nd🫠
