Guys.. blipping uses the throttle to bring up revs so you can match the gears. Him using the throttle and maintaining it does the exact same thing 😂 so it’s still rev matching.

He’s not rev matching to slow down drastically. He’s rev matching and maintaining his speed, hence no need to blip. Either way, he’s bringing up his rpms to smoothly downshift.

Practice at slow speed. When you have it pretty solid at slow speeds. You'll have a fundamental grasp. It'll be orgasmic at high speed and normal drives. So fun

For most of us Europeans, many skills translate quickly from driving stick shift cars. Motorcycles have fewer fail-safes so it's still a good skill to learn.

Something that helps me is to imagine what the downshift will sound like. If you are really comfortable with your bike, you probably intuitively know what your bike will sound like when you twist the throttle a certain amount. I blip my throttle to the amount i know will make the sound i imagined then let go of the clutch. Works pretty well for me.

I tried doing it within the first year of riding and it was pretty complicated cause I didnt fully understand the concept. After half a year, I came back to it and I did it immediately. It was way easier than I thought.

theres a time and place for rev matching though. quick stops, no point in doing so, if ur racing or going through some twisty roads. sure.

That makes so much sense. I would just let the clutch come slowly up to engine brake if I'm going down one gear. Essentially it uses my clutch as a brake pad, which is wasteful. But if I'm rev matching I wouldn't get that glorious BRAPAPAPAPA 😂

Mine i use same thing with heel and toe in car. Press clutch, small apply brake and downshift. It's smooth no jerking

So is this basically to disregard engine brake?

Do U let the clutch out slowly or do U dump it

Hey did the nibbi install tho it was the wrong one so we put the og one back on but now my bike won’t start without choke being on & it seems my throttles wide open, the tension of the throttle seems to have disappeared and won’t snap back to place we checked the cable connected to it and it was fine and we think the carb was reinstalled fine as well any thoughts?! Help plzz

Yoooww.. Now i know how to downshift but breaking is the problem

If you are in like 5th gear and need to slow down a goodly amount, how do you know what gear you should be in?

MeatMachine

so basically try to get the high rpm on the lower gear so you don’t accidentally engine brake the bike?

Oh so you give it a little gas while downshifting? I just started riding and it feels like the bike is bogging out for a couple seconds jerks and then gets going again. I just press clutch let off gas, shift down release clutch and then get back in gas idk what exactly I'm doing wrong
