Why 90% of People In The Gym Won't See Results (Reality Check)

About the video:
Getting lean and reaching a level of 10% body fat or 12% body fat is definitely not easy, but what’s even more challenging is staying lean long-term. Most people who do end up at a lower body fat percentage typically regain body fat pretty quickly. In other words, they didn’t create a sustainable lifestyle where they can maintain a physique that’s at 10 - 15% body fat.

In this video, I share the biggest lessons I’ve learned from maintaining a lean physique between 10 - 15% body fat for over 8 years. These are things that I wish someone told me earlier on my journey as it would have helped a lot. The goal of this video is to teach you to think like a lean person. This way you can not only get a lean physique but most importantly you can maintain a lean physique at a sustainable body fat level for you. That could be getting to 12% body fat, 15% body fat, or whatever level fits your lifestyle long-term.

Choose your pain, the one that comes from discipline, or the one from regret of not achieving it.

Took me 10 years to really keep this mindset and had this "click" just last year. Never looked back and i see life completely different. Discipline and structure is everything. You kind of need to be a little bit selfish in a way. Always finding time to fit in a workout and making sure you have the right food everyday, no matter what is going on. Some days is a struggle but if you push and push it makes the long term worth it 👍

You’re an engineer! Now it makes sense why I prefer your content over all the other fitness channels. You’re matter of fact and data driven. From one engineer to another, thank you 💪🏻

This is so very accurate! I’m 45 years old and I finally learned all of this! I’ve never had the discipline before and have always been over weight. I finally figured it out and am maintaining with abs now! It’s never too late and you’re never too old!

I think you're spot on. You have to realize that you are making a commitment to a lifestyle, not a diet. I never found any success until I decided that I was changing to a healthier lifestyle over all, consisting of diet, exercise, and developing healthy habit, while weening myself off all of my bad habits.

Finally I sub. Was watching a few of your videos and finally all clicked for me. Amazing channel, with no nonsense straight talk. I think your channel has lower subs due to no fast-changing edits or animation that others have. The ra-ra factor.

I made a whole lifestyle change thanks to you and Sean Nalewanyj, the walking is a big lifesaver helps balance my food intake to stay on a deficit, also high protein intake killed any junk food or sugar cravings I used to have, Thanks a lot Mario, I see things long term now

I am impressed how Mario teaches us not only fitness, but also how to be successful overall. All these quotes from books that he uses. I am truly fascinated how much he knows and the level of intelligence he has. Other bloggers make funny fitness TikToks and exercises that rarely useful or new, but Mario helps to improve the whole life and mindset.

This is probably the BEST video I have ever watched explaining why we don't reach our goals, no matter how much we say we want to change. To achieve a transformation, we really need that moment where we have a mental shift and then make self discipline a part of who we are....POWERFUL!

Awesome. We live in a world of instant gratification. Can't have it both ways. Say no. Stay the course. Be patient.

I m down 7% body fat while maintaining same weight in last 4 months. Now I m at 22-23%. Will take me 6-8 months to reach 15%. I m doing it slow as I reduced around 33 kgs weight and 23% body fat in 1.5 years. Slow and steady wins the race indeed.

He is spot on with this … took me ten years to get to the point where I can say no and accomplish my fitness goals … 55 pounds down and getting into great shape … the mindset is everything, without it you will quit over and over

Take it from a guy who started VERY heavy at 350 pounds. I'm down nearly 70 pounds over the course of the past 7 months through diet and exercise. My piece of advice would be this: Be patient with your process and ALWAYS seek knowledge along your journey. It's very easy to lose motivation, so try to gain a better understanding of the changes your body is going through. That includes proper dieting. You'll never commit to a diet you hate. Take this as an opportunity to get creative in the kitchen! Strive for consistency and don't expect greatness to happen overnight.

There's nothing very complicated, feed the positive side of your body and deny the negative side. Or- eat less qnd less gradually if you have a sedentary lifestyle. Kudos for your transformation!
