Thank you, Good stuff. Interesting to see Toyota extending the low cost to their Luxury Brands also . Was surprised to see Lexus so low.

Not shocked to see BMW at the top. Am shocked to see Mini further down the list than I'd expect.

The key for any car longevity is to find a qualified independent shop to do your work (after warranty period) and don't miss your scheduled maintenance, especially oil changes!

Concise yet helpful. None of that 10 minute yapping nonsense.

I notice the cheapest models to maintain are mostly very small non-luxury cars. Anyway, the survey has to be based on actual expenditures. What if some of the low maintenance is based on thrifty do-it-yourselfers or people who defer or don’t do some maintenance toward the end? (example: running an old Prius past its recommended battery replacement period).

What's not on this list, is Maserati. Which I would wager is far more than BMW. I'd go so far as to say it's almost double. However, it's probably not on this list because no one has ever kept a Maserati for 10 years. The big shocker to me though, is Land Rover, which shows up being less than Ford! Wow!

I am 3 1/2 years into ownership of my 2013 BMW 328i. I am about to hit 94K miles. Yes, BMW is notorious for being expensive to maintain, so my solution has been to take on some maintenance myself, and go to an independent BMW mechanic. For example, I can do an oil change myself for $43, about a third of what the dealer charges, and I use better quality oil to boot. When I can’t do the job, my mechanic is reasonable.

I desperately need a new car because I have a Suzuki that is crazy expensive to maintain. You have no idea how much this video helped. I've narrowed It down to a Kia Soul or Rav 4. but for a broke girl in her 20s... I think the Kia Soul is more affordable, while both have low maintenance rates

Over 11 years and 98, 000 miles, my 2008 SAAB 9-5 has cost $2, 700 to maintain. That includes all preventative maintenance, wear parts, fluids and tires. I have a SAAB-only mechanic. The car has never left me stranded.

My 2009 Acura TL SH-AWD is pretty cheap to maintain, as long as you stay out of the Acura dealership and find a good independent mechanic and get the parts off of eBay new or used.

People only buy BMW and Mercedes for the brand name. If the Germans really cared about reliabilty, their cars would have been in the same category as Lexus. Toyota and Lexus are made to last. It’s been their philosophy for decades.

If you go to the dealership for your maintenance then yes those prices will skyrocket. I have an 18 YO Merc ML55 AMG that I do my own work on. Didn't pay any where near that much and it's been more reliable than my wife's Camry.
