NEVER Buy These Unreliable Cars...They Have Terrible Engines!

Avoid these junk cars! They have unreliable engines in them and I just don't think it's worth your time. At least, that's what I've found with many of these cars. I'll be talking about a Subaru, a Chevrolet, a Ford, and more but they're all unreliable cars because they have some of the worst engines ever made.

If the engine has 'ECO' in it's name, RUN!

You would think that after over 100 years of making engines they could make a good engine and then keep that engine instead of changing them every f...king year or two.

Here in Britain, Ecoboost has been the stuff of nightmares for Ford.

No surprise with the modern "Big Two" . Ford "Quality is Job One" is over. Chevrolet? They had the slogan "Baseball, Hot Dogs, Apple Pie and Chevrolet". Today, one is a lie, the other is a campaign for diabetes.

That fart sound effect when the name of the engine drops is hilarious! The first time I heard it, I had to rewind a little bit, to make sure it wasn’t me!

"Modern" technology means TRASH 100% of the time. The carbureted 200ci straight six in my 1966 Ford Falcon has been running great for the past 32 years.

Have a friend who bought a 1st gen 1.4 Cruze used a couple years ago. Car only had 15000km when she bought it. I drove it after the purchase felt really good. 3 months later she was stuck with an engine full of coolant. Poor girl was devastated and left with a $10000 loan. Same thing happened to my friends mom. Small Buick suv thing. Same engine, same problems, same results. She made it close to 80000km.

I guess I'm a lucky one so far, I bought a 2018 Chevy Cruze for my daughter and I can say for far almost 7 years later not one problem with it at all in fact, it is one of the most reliable cars we have owned. I'm very good at maintenance, oil changes every 5, 000 miles. She used it throughout high school and college commuting back and forth from college over 400 miles. She still has original brakes which I'm going to do this fall. I drove it the other day and I swear still feels new. I love that car.

The WRX does not have the EJ 25.
Number one problem with Subaru engines is lack of proper naintenence. Boxer engines can last a very long time, but not if you ignore, modify improperly or abuse them.

Informative video; a few
I've owned 3 Subaru WRX's the first one was an FA20 and the 2 afterwards were both Sti's with the EJ25
All 3 of those cars were great cars to drive, each one was modified with a custom tune by a professional tuner (not some etune from a dude on facebook) and I never had a problem.
I won't sit here and say I didn't see people come in to shops locally with issues like you mentioned but in all honesty ANY car being pushed to it's limits without being built and tuned properly is a disaster waiting to happen.

I have owned 4 Subaru vehicles. Never had a single problem other than a window that wouldn’t work that was fixed under warranty. 2010 Outback currently has 205000 miles with no problems. So I don’t agree with his assessment of newer Subaru reliability.

Subaru needs to balance out that car with a few more emblems or decals on the trunk lid.

Thanks for the info. Since I only buy cars with terrible engines, your list expands my choices now! 🙂

The best advise is to never buy a gasoline engine with a turbo on it. Diesel engine - no problem, they're already built to handle the higher combustion pressures, but adding a turbo to a gas engine means more maintenance costs and shorter lifespan.

Sorry to hear you think that way bout Subs. I have had 2 of them now am going to buy another one 2.5 engine not turbo but back to the point I retired one at 231000 miles and the other at 247000 miles and I also no one of them is still on the road. Only replaced usual things like brakes tires batteries No engine work oh forgot a set of spark plugs, thats it.
