I heard from my ex after exactly 60 days of NC. Like you, I was sure my ex would be the exception and I would never hear from her. I was also convinced NC wasn’t working. We are slowly starting to date again and things are looking positive. I wanted to come here and write this for those who are barely holding onto NC and need to hear some words of encouragement. When we first met up after NC, she said so many things that Coach Lee talks about: “I was sure you were going to contact me so I wasn’t worried, then after about a month and a half I lost that feeling”, “I dated other people but that was just to fill a void left by you and none of them compared to you”, “the way you handled the break up was so mature and I wasn’t expecting that”. 2 months no contact. IT WORKS. Trust it and listen to Coach Lee. I thought my situation was hopeless when my ex told me our relationship “felt wrong to his heart.” But I listened to Coach Lee every single day and focused on myself and our daughter, got my diploma, and total self care and personal work in therapy. You have to give it time and focus on personal growth. This is important because then when they come back, they are so surprised at how good your doing. It’s attractive to see someone not being in misery over a breakup and it will make your relationship so much stronger. No contact is seriously the only way to go, it’s acceptance of the situation, which is what you need to be mentally and emotionally healthy.
