I read a fantastic Gilmour interview where he said that Richard Wright took them from an "English blues band to something so much more..." I loved that quote. For me, I'm wildly eclectic in the music I listen to, but having caught Floyd a couple of times, they were the epitome of the concert experience, regardless of genre. As massive as the shows were, their was ALWAYS larger still. I've listened to that Barn Jam with David & Richard I don't know how many times, entranced at how effortlessly they played off of one another. It's heart wrenchingly poignant the moment David's daughter caught as the two old friends and partners stared briefly at each other during one moment of that jam. Thanks for sharing this!

This rendition of Comfortably Numb in Gdansk belongs to the best-ever versions of this song... Listening to it 10 years later is and will remain an utter pleasure. Thanks for posting.

Thank you for sharing. Richard Wright died exactly one year after my wife of 32 years died. She and I shared so many Pink Floyd Concerts. The last was the Island Tour in Toronto Massey Hall in 2006. I miss her very much.

Without ever knowing any more about Richard Wright than bits and pieces from video clips and films, how is it possible to have such a positive impression of him? Even so, he just seems to me, from that paltry evidence to have been a very nice person.

He exceeded the pinnacle of what we call creative composition. Simple but complex. Subtle but pronounced. His talent and contribution are highly regarded by all Floyd fans. God bless and keep you. Thanks for sharing this 10 minutes in life with us.

This is literally my favourite version, I remember hearing him say the solo depends on how creative he feels in the moment (or something to that extent) and you can see how much he's enjoying it in this performance, it is absolutely superb.

Richard, was a star on earth, now, it's a star in the sky. BUT, he is immortal, as this video demonstrates.
The Great Gig in the Sky.

V Gdaňsku to bylo úžasné. Jeden z nejlepších koncertů.

Such a brutal, yet tender solo that cries the notes which pour from the guitar in cascades of musical tears into the darkness

Whenever you hear a song and I've heard this over a million times like all of you yet I get goosebumps for the first time...its wonderous! Oh a shiver too! Miss Richard dearly and thankful we still have David, Nick and yes...even Roger although I don't care for his solo stuff. There will never be a better band to play on Earth as was Pink Floyd! Timeless, priceless and the greatest drug trip without the drugs!

Love this! Gilmour is one of my top four guitar gods. But Richard will be sorely missed by me. No Pink Floyd song could ever be the same without him.

I didn't cry when my father who was my best friend passed away 18 years ago, but I couldn't hold my tears when I first saw this video. Thanks.

Oooh god, already ten years ! I tought it was 2 or 3 years ago... I really loved this man, his playing, his low key personnality but a key member of P.F. Unsung heroes as they say. RIP old friend.
