This is footage from the David Gilmour performance at Live froAllianz Parque, São Paulo, Brazil on December 12th, 2015 playing the Pink Flyod classic " Comfortably Numb".

Gilmour was impressed by the Latin American fans. “This was the first time I’ve ever been to South America and I was quite excited. The venues were vast – we would play to 50,000 a night. The audiences are so fantastic and enthusiastic, but polite at the same time and it’s a much more even split between men and women.”

The band was:

- David Gilmour – electric guitars, lead vocals
- Phil Manzanera – High-strung acoustic guitar
- Guy Pratt – bass guitars, backing vocals
- Jon Carin – piano, keyboards, electric guitars, backing vocals
- Kevin McAlea – keyboards
- Steve DiStanislao – drums, percussion, backing vocals
- João Mello – saxophones
- Bryan Chambers – backing vocals
- Lucita Jules – backing vocals

A 70-something year-old guitarist playing a 50-something year-old song bringing 20-something year olds to tears. This all one needs to know about rock 'n' roll.

Me, aged 64, consider this among the best tracks ever.

The most sublime guitar solo in all of rock history. All the passion, all the sadness, all the joy, all the human emotions an electric guitar can evoke -- here it is, right here

My Dad passed away at 90yrs. All he asked for was to be in his own bed with Comfortably Numb playing loud! He took 6 adult kids to see them 4x's. I feel the guitar notes reverberating throughout my body! Yup, , , and I'm now 68yrs and this most excellent band is still my favorite!💥🤟💥

I couldn't help but notice that everyone in this crowd is singing this song in English, but they are in Brazil. That's proof that music is the universal language. It doesn't hurt that David Gilmore is one of the best guitarists of all time. Thank you God for timeless music & such unbelievable talent.

I love watching the people near the stage singing and some crying.

Two pieces of wood, pickups wound a few thousand times as normal, a man with a gift and a backing band and vocals. You won't see another Gilmore after he is gone. You won't find another Masterpiece like Dark Side of the Moon either. I'm glad the youth of the world understands this. I'm almost 70. I have seen the band 4 times in 55 years. It never gets old. And never will. Pure genious.

Too see a young person in the front row get emotional over this song gives me hope that music like this will never die!

David is one of the few guitarist that can make the guitar express feelings. I don't know the secret, but he has it. This song saved my life when my parents divorced when I was 17. Now 61, blessed and saved, thank you Pink Floyd!

It is by far the greatest guitar solo of all time and I'm not the only one who says it.

Pink Floyd is proof that great music can transverse generations, languages, and racial divides. It really is the universal language.
