final show of his On an Island tour in 2006, where he played to an audience of 50,000 at the Gdańsk Shipyard to celebrate the founding of the Solidarity trade union.
It's also the final Pink Floyd-related recording to feature Richard Wright, who died on 15 September 2008, one week before the album's official release. Gilmour and his band were backed by the Polish Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Zbigniew Preisner and Leszek Możdżer on piano

I have probably seen or heard every recorded version of Comfortably Numb that exists over the years. I keep coming back to this particular version, and I truly believe that it contains the "G.O.A.T." of guitar solos! I'm awe struck every time!

ive been a guitarist since 1966 and I say this performance of CNumb was perfection! The emotion that comes through his fingers is stunning! Probably the greatest rock solo ever, especially that night at Gdansk! And if you dont believe just ask me!

I get the most satisfying ASMR from this version. A virtuoso guitar performance, backed by an orchestra!

This performance of Comfortably Numb is a 10 minute Orgasm. Hands down the Greatest Live Performance in music history! (Am I a bit over the top? Watch this performance and get back to me!)

Great musicians surround themselves with great musicians. I absolutely agree that this is the best live version. One chance to get it right. Rest in peace mr.wright.

I do think that if I happened to be David Gilmour and could play this stunning guitar solo in such a remarkable way, I’d simply have to plug in every night and play this for my own gratification and say to myself “Well done Dave, good job!” However, I suspect that Mr Gilmore is far more modest than I ! Thank you instead that this, and many more examples of your virtuoso playing are out there forever for us to enjoy, and that I can simply plug in the headphones every night and listen enthralled, and so it is I that say to you Sir, “ Well done Dave, good job!”

This band came into my life in 1970, when i bought meddle...i have been through a lot in my life, both good and bad, but this most cerebral band have been a constant...i never cease to be amazed by the sheer cleanliness and soul of Dave Gilmour's guitarwork....thank you Floyd..

It’s epic when you see David Gilmour playing guitar from the back while the smoke drifts 😎💫
