I get annoyed when life coaches compare themselves to therapist. Sweetheart we are not the same. Your client's come to me after you have fed them some trending bs heavily embedded with your personal opinion and life experience. It drives me insane. Please stop. Please. And you are also not allowed to use the term Counselor.

I actually have a friend who went into life coaching. I respect her niche. She's kind of a complaints department and time management advisor for business owners who don't want to say such things to their employees. Having seen it, I think it's reasonable. It is a little like therapy, in that it's a one-way supportive relationship.

Life coaching is only supposed to be helping you attain your life goals and help figure out if you have some blockages. The therapist helps deal with the blockage/traumas

Social media gave us all the green light insert our under educated and poorly researched opinions in the form of podcasts, coaching, commentary and journalism. Some have found a way to monetize it and others just post them in comment form 😊🙃

Unfortunately there are a lot of bad coaches out there.... who just want to talk and didnt really do the inner work which is required to be able to guide someone to themselves.

All the answers are in you. A good choach knows that and helps their client to help themselves.
Coaching and therapy is NOT the same, it s a different approach

I have a life coach and I was dealing with something deep. She referred me to therapy. The therapist had me do the same stuff my life coach has be doing. Journaling, processing the situation.
Sorry but that degree did not make her better then my girl. And she was more expensive. I will keep my life coach for my issues. Lol

👏🏽👏🏽 This is the one. This girl claimed she wanted to be a life coach but she was a “stripper/quantum physicist/entrepreneur” or the one who gives relationship advice but isn’t in a relationship proves that people are too opinionated these days. The fact that people are trusting the trajectory of their lives in the hands of people who either do not have the academic qualifications to advise another or have not personally accomplished a healthy relationship is reckless. Makes me really sad for those people who fall for the scam of those kids of people. 😢 Glad I’m not alone on thinking the trend is harmful.

this is misleading. a therapist is completely different than a life coach. you are not allowed to simply give advice especially not from personal experience. most people who are passionate about life coaching have genuine Intention to help others.

Thank you! As a Licensed Therapist, we have to get 4000 hours during a practicum, supervision hours, 2 years of graduate school after the bachelor's degree, etc. I'm happy for people to make their money, but dang! People need to be careful what they call themselves!
