Life Coaches Coaching Life Coaches SCAM #reaction

In this video, I am reacting to another video titled "How I Became a Life Coach | Start Your Business With NO Experience". Throughout the conversation we will discuss the low barrier of entry into the coaching industry, the substance-less nature of coaches who only coach other coaches, as well as many other [in my opinion] problematic characteristics of coaching as a whole.

I keep hearing about the “transformation and results they experienced…” but I never actually hear what those results and changes are. Therapy isn’t necessary for everyone, but it is regulated by a licensing board. Coaches have a bottom line, “sign you up to my program” mentality and therapy doesn’t do that. It’s preying on people’s vulnerability. Thanks for the great insight Danielle!😊👍

Coaches coaching coaches is the only model that makes money in this industry. The day-to-day life coaches make less than $50K/year. After getting my coaching certification I quickly realized there was no real money in it and instead used the techniques on myself and doubled my salary by getting a new job in CORPORATE. I follow the money, not the scam coaching heads on social media. Use your own critical thinking friends!

I would be so suspicious of any coach who made the type of client financial success claims that she did.

I know so many former servers/bar tenders/bottle girls that transitioned to either an online coach, esthetician, OF girl or realtor. Always one of those 4.

She mentioned she was looking for a side hustle to get out of corporate. She also claims she wants to help people…throughout this video she shows her true motivation…money. If she were truly motivated by helping people then why isn’t she putting more of her efforts into her clients. Why is she trying to selling a course rather than her services? Definitely giving MLM vibes.

Hi Danielle, I thoroughly enjoyed your latest video, as always – it's informative and spot-on.

Your perspective on coaches coaching coaches without genuine client experience is not only accurate but also quite prevalent in the personal training arena.

It's amusing how these 'coaches of coaches' seem to be multiplying like rabbits in the field!
Interestingly, I'm currently in the process of certifying my own weight loss program specifically designed for personal trainers.

However, unlike some, I've got quite the track record to back it up – over 15 years of helping individuals shed those pounds, managing my own fitness studios, and even having a team under my wing. It's been quite the journey, and I've been at it for over a year now, all while juggling the demands of running my own weight loss business. 😅

Keep up the great work with your videos, Danielle! Your insights are always on point and appreciated. 😊

Going to school to be a therapist, nurse, etc. is expensive. The practicum/internship phase for therapy is unpaid or very low pay. That’s a practical reason, and beyond that coaching is “sexier” and the promise of making easy money quickly is catnip with the high cost of living and stagnant wages.

I absolutely love your channel!!! I have always intuitively felt this, and some others I know tell me that I am just a hater. I believe I am a realist, lol. Thank you!!

On the principle of charity, I would've expected "life-coaches" to at least be well-versed in (Say, for example, they're psychotherapists who use treatments not approved by insurance in the US, but clinically trialed elsewhere) Failing that, a PhD in something like philosophy. Since most would've got themselves into some form of existential crisis during their doctorate studies, which makes them somewhat qualified to coach others about life. In any case, there's not even the appearance of entry barriers for becoming a "life-coach"...

My friend and I wanted to start a blog called "We're Not Psychics, But We'll Tell You What To Do Anyway!" LIfe coaching reminds me of that!

Imagine, say, an army where everyone is a 5-star general. Who's going to actually be fighting at the frontline? I mean everyone would be issuing orders, but no one is going to carry them out.

I agree with therapists having training about conditions/trauma rather than experience of it. I see I as the same way as me as a Pharmacist - you expect my expertise on a medication is due to knowledge and training not because I tried it and liked it!!

I think a lot of people get into life coaching for the same reasons as MLMs. It's a copy/paste shortcut to a bootleg version of a real profession.
