I love when people think they know what’s best for you, they tell you how your life will go. Excuse me, last time I checked, it’s my life, my decisions. Example:

(5 year old): I want to have 20 k i d s someday!

Society:
How adorable!

(25 year old):
I don't want k I d s.

Society:
You're way too young to say something like that!

I always suggest offering to bet that You won't change Your mind/regret it (being CF) by age "x".
If they take the bet keep upping the amount untill they realise that You're serious and they fold.
Or make some money.
Make the bet in front of others as they won't want to back down and lose face in public.

What gets me is if a16 yo without an education, single, and no way to provide for a child other than welfare, gets knocked up and keeps it. Oh she is brave, she knows what she's doing.

26 yo with a good education and good job decides she doesn't want one. Oh, you're entirely to young, you have no idea what you want.

I knew when I 9 or so says my mother, I remember for sure I didn’t want them when I was around 12 I’m now 35 and still have zero desire, my brother had twins 3 weeks ago and now more than ever I know that is not for me, love my nephews but motherhood for sure isn’t for me, so happy my husband feels the same way

Your never to young to decide you don't want kids i was 14 when i made the decision i didnt they wouldn't say that you were too young if you made a decision that you always wanted kids sometimes when you know that you don't want kids you just know and thats ok interesting video

I remember getting this exact question when I was 17 years old. I was working in the family business and our billing lady asked me that. She also did the thing where she just smiled “knowingly” and said “you’ll change your mind.” It made me very angry at the time. She continually said that to me as I grew into my mid 20s. I’m now 35 and had my tubes removed last year. Joke’s on you, Kathy!

I knew by my mid teens kid's weren't for me. I like them, just didn't see a reason to have them. I'm now 61 and never changed my mind. Yes you CAN know at a young age.

They are always willing to say you are “too young” to decide not to have children. They never tell a 20 year old that they are “to young”, “too poor”, or “too immature”, to have a child.

Teenagers are too young to have kids but they are not too young to think if kids is something they may want or not want in their future, they may change their minds on either side as they gain more information or experience on what it is like to have kids or their focus is on others or other things
Somebody in their 20s might want kids and then change their minds or visa versa
