Society's view:

Nice guy: Awful; too clingy, lack of masculinity, possible psychotic tendencies

Bad boy: The dreamy, mysterious guy who's just misunderstood but some freaking how you will be the one girl to change that

Reality:

Good guy: A guy who treats strangers, parents kindly; a morally, ambitious guy

Bad Boy: A highschool dropout bum living with his parents, absolutely no ambitions, sleeps around, and is a jerk. He won't be able to love you since he doesn't even love himself

My perspective is that a guy can be either one or both. There are some guys who look nice but are psychopaths, while there are some who are genuinely nice. There are also some "bad boys" who are jerks while there are some who are good guys making mistakes trying to grow better. My point is labeling people doesn't mean you know them.
