I’ve seen people struggle with the silence of meditation a lot. I’m always saying… “if you hear those voices, that thought clutter, CONGRATULATIONS! You’re doing it!” So much of meditation and getting out of your head is first to acknowledge and recognize the voices. Only then can you begin to change them or dismiss those that aren’t serving you!

I used to ruminate a lot trying to figure everything out and trying to find an answer to everything and I can tell you it leads to nothing lol 😂 there are no answers only self discovery of how fucked up trauma can be. Learn to let go and be. No need to think. Just go do and live

I have innatentive ADHD. I’ve thought 500 million things, yet I’ve never thought about my own thoughts THAT way.

With medication sometimes I accidentally end up focusing on the thoughts which is counteractive. This is much more effective than medication. Instantly I feel so much less trapped. This is truly something that’s going to stay with me for the rest of my life. Thankyou very much. ❤

As someone with ADHD, I can't thank you enough for this video. I never ever heard of this method with "channels" and it kinda redefines how I see the world and my thoughts. Thanks a lot

This reminds me of a monk who spoke about training our "monkey mind, " simply by taking a moment to focus on our breath. And like you say, not necessarily "stopping" our thoughts or feelings, but recognizing each thought; we acknowledge it, and let it go by returning our attention to the breath. This is something I've attempted to use in living more mindfully, and I think the channels metaphor here might help me expand on that!

Thank you sooo much for such a great advice! ♥ I have been doing CBT for years (treating CPTSD), I have also tried practicing grounding techniques for a while but the way you worded it, this idea of "channels" was the most helpful way I ever found to calm my rumination

I'm glad to see I am not the only one struggling with this!!! Meditation is difficult for more than just me. That's a relief.

Thank you so much. I began crying after channeling my thoughts of me and my gf and our plans for our future. I will try to channel myself to those positive thoughts of me and my girlfriend more and more.
