This is what I struggle most with every time I interview, I feel like no matter how much I prepare, my mind goes completely blank when I am asked to give an example! Have an interview today and really want to nail this.

I got the job!! Only three hours from interview to offer. I have *never* seen a turnaround that fast, considering how many corporate approvals they had to go through in order to make it happen.

Thank you so much for all your help! I was afraid the positive reviews were paid for or something, but no… your suggestions *work*. I am flabbergasted. I only had two days to prepare. I am under qualified, but my preparation shown through.

Thank you so much!!!

I just wanted to share after 9 months on the hunt I finally got the job! I didn’t start your videos until almost half way in my search and they have helped substantially! Especially the story toolbox, I wouldn’t have landed the job without it! Thank you so much!

Madeline, thank you SO much for these videos. There was a Reduction in Force at my previous employer, which landed me unexpectedly in the job market in February. It had been six years since I’d been in the job market, and I felt I really needed to be strategic in my job search and interview approach. This video and many others on your channel helped me understand the “why” behind interview questions and gave me so much more confidence going into interviews. I’m excited to share that I received a job offer today and I’m going to be making $5, 000+ more than at my previous job. I’m so grateful for you and all the work you’ve put into this channel. Thank you!!

The story toolbox helped me get a job offer two weeks ago. Best of all, I've got my star & car stories written down and cross-referenced against behavioral questions for the next time!

I had an interview like 2 hours ago. Still feeling gross. It was supposed to be interview panel but somehow ended up with 1 person interviewing. It was at 6.pm. interviewer headteacher stayed after work hours and she was exhausted. It was like she wasn’t interested at all, and doing just for procedure. she asked 11 so common questions with 1-2 sentence answers.

God never felt so low and I was so positive at beginning but at the end was just begging it to end.

Gosh the worse interview ever.
Had so many stories ready to go.

I trust your expertise enough to ask you this: at my current job they asked me ‘how do you handle gossip in the workplace?’ in the job interview. Extremely bizarre question that I’ve never been asked. And now I understand why they asked that question - things are so bad here, that people obviously talk. Would that question be considered a form of ‘intimidation’?

I prefer the CAR approach to answer those scenario based questions.

Guys, I know a lot of people (like me before) read these comments with skepticism. BUT, I just took the time to come back here to say I FREAKING GOT THE JOB. Madeleine knows what she´s doing and her content could not be more on point. I was lucky enough to come across her content while going through a screening process and it helped me so much! Thank @self made millennial

Went through an interview process recently.
Got behavioral questions during HR screening, followed by a friggin behavioral assessment test, followed by a hiring manager round which was pretty much 1 hour 'tell me about' session.

That boss scenario made me chuckle as I haven't had one boss who saw any suggestions I made (even with research to show) as something they would accept and follow, rather they know best and they do what they want. Even after it barely succeeded their way, it wasn't always the most effective approach. So, I wouldn't know how to do a CAR method expressing the result side of it to be favorable to me. Any suggestions on how to make it appear that my suggestions, even though were not followed still make me shine? :)

I have an interview tomorrow. The hiring manager specified it will be a behavioral interview.

The disadvantage of these questions is how honest does the candidate answers the questions. If the hiring manager ask questions on the candidate's experience, they either know it or not.

Recently had a 2 hour interview with 20 of these questions. All negative situations.

My behavioral interview questions have been broad like, “tell me about a time that you needed to learn a new skill and how you went about that”.

A lot of times the questions asked involve situations that have never come up. Even interviewing at a place I’ve worked before, it’s weird because my ex boss is on the interview panel. How have you handled a disagreement with your boss? Dude, I worked there 14 years when did I ever have a disagreement with the 4 supervisors I had including you?😂. They ask all the candidates the same questions so it’s not a very intuitive interview where the questions are more appropriate for a rehire. It’s like having to approach the interview like you’re total strangers even though you have more temporary assignment experience as a supervisor than some people on the interview panel. It’s just the weirdest situation telling stories that illustrate your thought processes etc to people that had no issues with your independent work and professional judgment before.
