Don’t listen to other people and just do what exercises work for you. 👍

Compound lifts recruit the most amount of motor units. They are the king. You got to build a base first. Yes they are very taxing but that's what causes adaptations in your body. Man up bro!

When looking like you're strong and athletic is more important than actually being strong and athletic lol

Just love the lack of actual knowledge in biomechanics that justify why these movements aren't the best for muscle growth in everyone. The bro science is strong on this one.

Greg doesn't wear shirts, because lifting up his arms we affect his upper body recovery.

I think you gotta give squats and deadlifts credit though for building your lower body and providing you a solid strength foundation. I agree with your points and your reasonings but your advice I don’t think applies to beginners/intermediate lifters

Greg the type of guy who just doesn’t eat enough and looks like it.

Yeah it sounds a little bonkers but he has a point, when I squat or deadlift heavy I eat WAY more than the calories burned.

That’s the whole point to squats and deadlifts, size and strength, that’s why people do it.

I don’t understand this guy: if you want to build lower body, do lower body. If you want to build upper body, build upper body. If you want to look lean then cut.

My guy I have been squatin since I was 16(Im 20 now) and my lower body is the only muscle group that I have actually been faithful in training. For squat and deadlift the most important thing is form and consistency, and *stop trainin heavy all the time* .
1. Squats are the perfect leg exercise for leg mass, you can really load your quads safely with heavy weight and still get glute and lower back benefit.
2. The deadlift is the most taxing exercise in my opinion. I have a problem with my lower back(rugby injury) so I never go above 90 kg on deadlift. So even with the deadlift *FORM* is the most important thing cuz Ill c gents in the gym racking up heavy weight and their back is arched and they are destroying their back, but what I love about the deadlift is it increases your overall strength.
3. Now for lunging exercises, I see these as a great way to hace defined quads as the squat offers mass lunges offers more definition for me I love the Bulgarian Split(John Meadows made me fall in love), personally it offers more mind-muscle connection for my quads and I really recomend the "the dropset of death"( dropset till faliure).
4. Pistol squats are usefull to a certain degree as you cant load them safely with heavy weight, and if you cant perform one I recomend laying with your upper back on a bench and loading moderate weight and perform 1 legged hip thrusters.
Legs are the best muscles to train and over the years you pick up what works for you and what doesnt stay safe.

What is the 2 movement he showed (after the Bulgarian split squats, before the pistol squat)?

He said Romainian deadlift, but it was just one leg, with dumbbells. I thought a Romanian deadlift is the standard deadlift with a barbell?

Thanks 🙏
