About the video:
A lot of people get stuck on the journey trying to get lean without even realizing what’s holding them back. They know the basics of calories in vs. calories out. They may even track their macros, walk more, and do weight training but barely see any results. And if they manage to lose some weight and maybe even dip below 20% body fat, they quickly regain it. So the question is, how do you lose body fat and actually keep it off?

In this video, I share the most common signs of failure I see with those who struggle to lose body fat and what you need to avoid. If your goal is to get down to 12% body fat or 10% body fat, take this information seriously and make sure you adjust your plan accordingly. Remember, one of the key traits of those who successfully get lean is that they’re not just open to learning. They are quick to implement what they learn.

I wasted 3 years of my training by being stuck at 21% body fat, giving it my all in the gym but wasn't being 100% consistent with my nutrition. I was way overlooking my calories and easily surpassed maintenance almost daily.

I bought a scale and started weighing every single food including sauces and properly tracking every single day to make sure I was in a deficit. I'm now at 17.5% body fat and finally starting to see my hard work that was being covered by fat.

Nutrition is so damn important guys, get a scale and start tracking EVERYTHING.

I love your no bullshit/no magic solutions content! I've been taking steps to lose weight/gain muscle since mid-November. I'm still at 22% body fat, but I've been consistent for the most part. I did slip up on food a bit with work/family things getting rough, but I'm back on track, and always found ways to keep at the very least to my steady schedule of working out. The junk food I had bought is all in the trash now.

Nutrition is so HUGE! You said it best "you can't out exercise a bad diet"
I know a lot of people who have this mindset - "I'll start on Monday" and let themselves go on a weekend gaining back all of the calories they lost during the week, and then some. It's amazing how two bad days can easily throw off 5 good ones. It's about consistency! Not easy to do, or every guy would be at 10%-12% body fat. It's a lifestyle & one that enjoy very much!
I've had a lot of ups & downs over the last 11 years in the gym and have fallen off of my diet a couple of times, but now, at 46 years old am in the best shape of my life and looking forward to only getting better!

Thank you so much for this video 😭 I know it's ridiculous but I'm moved, almost in tears. I didn't realize it but I've really been hitting every checkmark of the egotistical person trying to avoid responsibility for their own actions each time I have failed in my diet/training and rebounded in the last 6 months since I started... I needed this reality check... Thank you also for being straight to the point and avoiding typical youtuber bs! For real, some youtubers would have stretched this video into a half an hour essay with self-promotion every 5 mins.

Mario I really appreciate how you explain to take care of ourselves with bulking. Which I’ve been working on, from lifting weights but I go outside walking first . I’ve been trying to push myself to 10’000 steps. Not quite there yet.I just had hip surgery two weeks ago, I’m still having pain from my hip going down to my leg. So as upsetting as those day’s i just lift no walking like today, I’m stills walking around my house I can’t stand sitting. Great vedio Mario 💪

Mario’s video about how doing a healthy bulk to learn how to put on weight properly has been huge for me. after doing a slow bulk and now I’m my first proper cut, it’s really cool to see how the calorie deficit is changing my performance in the gym. It’s changed my relationship with food for sure

Ive been failing at this but keep at it. Im thankful im still consistant in my strength training. The nutrtion tracking is really my kryptonite, really kept thinking how tackle it. It true you cant out train or run a bad diet, im keep a base strength and track NEAT. It really boils down your great content and advice. Its really hard to let go and I feel I have emotional withdraws. Thank you for the motivation to keep on trying you are blessing 🙏
