I love Matt Tsu’s advice and direction much. I am a 64 male with hip arthritis diagnosis and over the last 16 months have self healed using this channel as a blueprint for recovery. ATM!

I work in physical therapy with the geriatric population. I explain to people every day that I will not be able to help the joint itself, but I can strengthen all the muscles around the joint for added stability, increased mobility, and way less pain. Sadly, the majority of people do not want to put in the effort and opt for some form of surgery. Then I see them again in a few months, still in pain (or worse pain), and we go back to square one. The body is amazing and can heal itself from just about anything if given the correct tools.

wow.I am a 77 year old ex-dancer with a PhD. in Dance Education! I am also scheduled for either a cortisone shot or a hip replacement. NONE of my doctors recommended strengthening exercises. And I did not think for myself. I am so grateful. I know these exercises, of course, in fact, I spent 3 years in Paris doing the CANCAN! But I panicked because of the actual pain. I so appreciate your tough-talking encouragement. Just what I needed. A literal kick in the butt.

Hi Matt! I’ve been living with chronic pain since early 2001. I’ve tried injections in my spine and have been on numerous medications. The fact is, these treatments amount to placing a band aide on an severe deep cut. In other words, not efficient enough to truly help. I’ve had physical therapy, but therapists can’t do anything after you go home. I appreciate your approach to pain. Treating the entire body to pain relief that can be attained. You are very knowledgeable for being so young. You seriously look like my son…lol. Most times, I feel that youth is wasted on the young. Not true for you! You are helping my body get fit and giving me an active life again. I feel reborn! Thank you son for posting these videos! You’re very fun to watch and I even forget I’m working out! Hugs to you, your wife and your kids!🌺🙏🤟🌈💪✌👏

Hello everyone. It's a little trickier than just strengthening. I have watched, followed and did every exercise that Matt recommends for the past 5 years. First, it has helped me become much more flexible as I started with a completely locked left hip. I'm still not able to go for long walks without suffering for a day or 2 afterwards. It's not just your hips when your whole body has been misaligned for many years. When my hips loosen up, then it's my neck and shoulder that hurts. I still do these exercises, but I have started also doing Pete Egoscue's, Pain Free (new edition) book movements. You must relax the tight muscles to get your body back into full alignment. It's working along with the strengthening. I'm 71 and have avoided ship replacement for 6 years.

OMG! I love this video. I was diagnosed with OA in the hip but am told the pain I describe does not coincide with the degree of damage in the joint. PT did not help me...they were way to aggressive and hurt, setting me back even more. I have since determined that I have three things going on with the whole joint (bursitis and tendonitis/ligamentitis included) and am putting together an arthritis management program to help. The range of motion limitation is my current issue to resolve. Your video explained more about what I can do for my issues than I got from anyone else in the healthcare world. I am going to continue stretching...I have problems straightening that joint, but I am definitely going to add these exercises to my workout regimen, perhaps alternating with walking on off days to help me keep moving.

Thank you so much for this video. I am subscribing and will be checking out your website.

Thank you so much Matt! I’ve been dealing with hip arthritis for years and now I have bone on bone. 3 doctors advised me to have my hip replaced and I’ve been putting it off. I have been following you for a while few years now and love your videos. And now I just came across this hip arthritis one. Thank you for addressing this debilitating issue and giving me hope. And yes I would love the free follow along guide. Will check out your stretching videos for arthritis too! Thanks again for making those wonderful, informative videos! 🙏🏼

You make me feel that its possible to get stronger. My sisters have both had hip replacement surgery (and cant figure out why it hurt so bloody much!) i dont want that! Im 69, my daughter wants me to go to a gym and I have had miserable experiences with gym guys who push and push until I vomit from the stress of the treadmill. I want to take it slow and get stronger! You make me feel like Its possible, and I can do it.

Thank you for your integrity and your conscientious attention. I subscribed right away after the first video of yours that showed up on my feed. I didn't want to lose you! I would love to do a follow along video with you. I'm pushing 80 and people think I'm 60. Your content is valuable. If younger people started doing this, they could stave off the debilitation that comes with neglecting the body and blaming it on old age. You are brilliant

I've been dealing with a painful hip for several years. After giving up the stretches that caused me more pain, I followed your ATM (always think muscles) and started working more on strengthening. What a difference! I still have some pain, but it's a dull pain now and getting better. I'm so glad I found your videos and your methods.

Very informative video. I was diagnosed with severe bilateral hip arthritis and was recommended a hip replacement.
I refused to go that route and asked for cortisone shots and physical therapy. After a month of doing the exercises daily my hip pain has decreased tremendously and on most days pain free.
I am feeling stronger and flexibility improving every week. Videos like this has helped me so much.
Again, Great video!

I've been going to P. T. for fluid on my knee. I'd noticed stiffness in my legs, thighs, and hips still that was getting worse the less I moved. I'm glad this popped up on my feed, as the stretches will be helpful to add to my home routine .
I like your sense of humor and your empathy. Thank you for the good advice you give. I really didn't know how weak my muscles had gotten until I began P. T. I'm slowly getting better every week. New subscriber!

YES - I really want the follow-along exercise video, please! I need it to help me stay focused. I'm finding that I do the exercises a couple of days and then I stop doing them. I get distracted/bored/frustrated trying to remember what the exercises are, how many reps, wondering if I'm doing them right or hurting myself. THANK YOU, MATT!👍

I was told I had OA on my right hip and loss 70% of my cartilage just by looking at an x-ray!!! I thought that was insane! Unfortunately I completely stopped exercising and now I am so weak. So I am excited to start strengthening my hips with the follow along video you send me . Thank you
