Don't believe these numbers for a second. Doesn't matter if it's CPUs or GPUs, the rumored numbers, and even the ones presented by AMD, Nvidia never holds up in practice. For example Nvidia says that it's up to 80% faster which is true for 1 or 2 games while 99% of games are around 50%.

I'm totally down for a 1.4-1.6x ipc boost, but where are the 16 core parts? they seem to be completely missing from what was talked about here today and there's no way in heck that i'm going back to 8 core parts in 2024-5.

Well from Linus tests the 7950x 3d was worse than 7900x maintaining its auto overclocking not too hyped for the 9900x 3d until I see a comparison justifying the 3d model will be better this time

whats really gonna be interesting is the L3 cache. Ring vs ladder. I wonder if the 32 mb ladder is gonna be close to the older 96mb ring, We may see the 9700x get somewhat close to the 7800x3d in gaming. If it does that means the 9800x3d is gonna be amazing. Pretty sure intel better pull a miracle out of their ass, if they try another floppy refresh, its gonna be bad news bears for intel.

I wanted to jump from my 5800x3d to the 7800x3d not long ago, glad i haven't done it. I'll definitely do it in October with the 9800x3d!
