I wish my dad told me these types of things growing up. I never had any positive guidance into any sort of adulthood.

"If you don't listen to that thing that beckons you forward, you will pay for it like you cannot possibly imagine. You'll have everything that's terrible about life in your life, and nothing about it that's good. And worse, you'll know that it was your fault and that you squandered what you could've had."

This is so huge. Painful and powerfully true at the same time.

The last 30 seconds is legitimately more terrifying than any horror movie.

Man that fucking hit me. I've always believed in relentless self-improvement and having the courage to accept your calling in life but I could never explain it as well as that. Peterson is truely an incredible man. As much as the world seems to be declining in the 21st century we're lucky to live in an age where anyone in the world with an internet connection can learn from him.

Jesus. This hit home. When Peterson starts inspiring you instead of scaring you, that means you've really begun to take the reigns. Fear and excitement (as least from what I've experienced) are very similar in some manner.

The part i like is when Jordan Peterson mentions that we cannot force ourselves to like things, it just naturally comes to us! Very fascinating how interest/passions arrive within us, a natural calling!

Since in come across Jordan Petersons videos I feel that if grown up more in the past 10 months then the previous 3 years. I took the opportunity to move out at 17, while not doing completely positive and legal things I was financially stable, cuz I felt I was suffocating at home but soon after my grandmother passed and hit my mom pretty hard and the path I was going down I didn't see a good ending. She told me she felt like she was losing two people now that I was out of the house so I was kinda guilted into moving back but I don't blame her entirely. Skip to a year later I took the next opportunity to move out while living on campus 6 hours away although with no real direction and went back to my old habits that ended up with me in arrested, kicked out of school, and the loss of the women I thought I would marry. Since then I've been trying to sort and pick myself back up but it's been a slow development. These lectures really help and I'm finally feeling like I'm gaining the right mindset to take Life into my own hands again and move onwards and upwards.

What I've found is that doing what calls you, makes you feel you're enough. Your life becomes an adventure regardless of your situation.

It's so strange how he speaks in a way that makes it feel like he knows me intimately...this is exactly what I needed to hear. God bless Jordan Peterson

This is so true, I left home and my parents I was sixteen. Without fear and just excitement and adventure I went. My mother wouldn't send me the remainder of my clothing, she was very angry, I went anyway to save myself from mediocrity, I had no intention of going half way up the mountain. Terrible things happened, but the experience was worth all of my being, this I can say.

This is hard for someone who has to help family financially. You can't move on and leave them stranded you know.
