I still think it’s more the illusory cheaper price, like petrol being £1.30.9 when it’s really £1.31p

In Ireland prices are rounded up or down depending on the price of the article.

There's a chain of discount shops that used to be called Sam 99p, now it's called Sam Pound. True story, inflation. 😁

I knew about this but not why do they do it in the USA when they have to add tax on anyway and you’d have to open the till every time regardless
