It's honestly the same as when you go to the gym and your forearms or around your knees start sweating, you don't feel the "wetness" of it. Yet when you step outside and a breeze goes by you'll notice it then because you'll start to feel cool around the areas where you sweat.

Now the feeling I had one day when swimming in a warm lake, I can finally describe.
I swam in that lake and the temperature was just so right, that I didn't feel like swimming im water at all. Like it just fell like air. As if I was swimming in almost nothing.
Everyone said I was weird.

Put your hand in a thin transparent polythene bag. Then close your eyes and put it in cold water.

You will feel as if your hand is wet, but when you check, it's dry.


Also think about this:

If you ever bathed in lukewarm water(not in bathtub), you feel as if some parts of your body is dry even though all of your body is wet.

I was doing an x-ray once, and the nurses said "it's gonna feel like you're peeing your pants" but also told me that in fact it's just my blood vessels widening in my groin, hence getting warmer (which feels like i would have wet myself)
