I’ve owned several scooters and found the less expensive smaller ones to be extremely uncomfortable on anything but a smooth surface, but the best one by far that I’ve owned is the Pride Executive, it’s a bit bigger and the springing is excellent it’s like night and day to those smaller scooters.

As a person who can not walk without a walker there is only one of these that works for me...the number 4 on this list, the Buzz Around Ex. There is no way I could ever take apart or lift any of these scooter parts...most people who really need a scooter could not. Maybe it is easy for those who have problems with mobility because of breathing or heart problems but not for those of us who have problems that make normal walking impossible. I do appreciate seeing the comparisons and descriptions for people needing to choose a scooter based on their needs.

This was helpful but pricing should've been included. We are talking about people on a fixed income for the most part. Also, why wasn't battery life included?

My friend George was riding one of these and was attacked by a group of senior citizens with hickory canes. Oh the humanity!

My wifes Triaxe beats all of those . It fits easiy into the trunk of her Camry. Goes up to 35 miles on a charge, 12 mph top speed, headlamp, horn, parking brake, illuminated bbattery level meter, and a rear pull out luggage holder. It is, however limited to hard surfaces.

This Metro Mobility USA Patriot scooter is great for people who can't walk long distances and is easy to drive in close spaces. Great top!

The Pride Travel Pro is the best, plus you can add so much to it to make your life easier. I changed out the front basket and added a nice hitch basket that Carrie’s many shopping bags. Light enough to carry up the stairs when disassembled

#1 I went back to the beginning and did not see any prices. #2 What is the thoughts about Walmart scooters? I’m thinking of getting one just to run to the corner mart, the bank or the doctors and they have them for like $700-$900

-You really need to add comments about considering how bendable your knees and ankles may be especially if one is deciding on a three or four-wheel scooter. Although they may not be as stable; a three-wheel scooter with a swivel set will be much easier to get on if you have a broken leg or very stiff joints. Thank you for all the great info and especially all your videos.

I've used scooters many times from rental places, and a few of the things I've learned that aren't mentioned in thisvideo are: if you have difficulty bending down, you probably won't be able to take your scooter apart or put it back together without help, because some of the pieces have to go into the bottom section. Also, unless you can get on the ground and up easily, I would look for one that you can charge on steering column by the key. I have one now that only charges directly in the battery. It's fairly easy to remove the battery and take it into your room to charge and then snap it back in. If this is hard to do, however, I found that mine had a connecting cord that has pins in it that have o be lined up correctly with the battery charging slot. I never could manage this, so had to always get help. Another issue with the steering column that has the handles that stick out like a bike does is that unless you are thin, when you are getting on and off, it's easy to accidentally hit the lever that moves the scooter forward or backward, which can cause you to fall asthe scooter scoots but you are still part-way on it. I'd recommend the handles that wrap around the movement controls--the ones that make a C-shape off the column rather than a T. I love my scooter that I bought at a bargain price from a local store. It's allowed me to attend events that I'd otherwise be unable to enjoy because it's too hard for me to get around without some aid.

For the scooters that disassemble it would be helpful to know the weight of the heaviest piece.

I guess you have to be a US citizen to have heard of any of them. In NZ, the most common brands are Invacare, Pride, Shoprider and Hartway, with Merits being relatively new to the market. All of the scooters you showed are "tiddlers" suitable only for teens or very petite adults. Here, we like bigger, rugged scooters, able to handle rougher terrain, with longer battery life, and travel distance.

The one problem with these is they are difficult to secure in a transit bus. There are no securing points. Ask your supplier before purchase .

the one thing i have found is no matter where it's made if it has plastic wheels it is only good for even flat surfaces and the price from china is 1/4 of the shop price order direct as i did even with shipping and taxes still almost half shop price

Scooters are not automobiles. They are a assistive device for you to go for a walk at the same pace. I would never want someone with dementia on the sidewalk doing 15 miles an hour into me. 5 mph is a fast walk speed. I have ridden several at the museum and it is a lifesaver for us that tire easily. As far as shopping well a quick item is about it. Now at my store I can go shop and have it delivered after I have chosen my stuff with a employee assistant. I am not worn out. I still excercise but it just makes it easier.
