Okinawan has a whole different dialect than usual Japanese language that even japanese might have difficulty understanding it. Gotta respect the commitment of those who choose to move there

Same in the Philippines. 27 years of my existence is in this country, and typhoons are now of a normal experience. There's some years when a typhoon is so destructive, but life gets back to normal and it's just a part of life here.

If you go to okinawa, I recommend you to go to miyakojima, it's very calm and peaceful island, It doesn't have many people there but you can enjoy the emerald beach all alone 😊
