Dealing with Toxic People

I was reminded again in a recent interaction with a friend of the importance of listening.

With the best intentions, I jumped to offering a potentially useful alternative perspective before ensuring he felt fully heard, with predictable results.

You can improve your listening, no matter how good you are at it already. It doesn't require a high IQ. It requires no education as a prerequisite. Anyone, at any time, can choose to improve their listening skills simply by choosing to listen well whenever they're presented with the opportunity, no matter the nature of what someone's sharing.

It's also absolutely vital to develop as a leader.
