Larry Haun is such a legend. He was 79 in this video. He had complete mastery of every aspect of framing and construction. He's still humble, kind and respectful. He was still just showing up for work every day and getting the job done.

"If it is off a bit, life goes on." Enduring words of wisdom. Thank you, Larry Haun

That’s words of wisdom to live by, “its a little off, and life goes on” I love that! I find myself spending so much time trying to make everything perfect on projects and in the end it really doesn’t matter.

What a wonderful man. I grew up in the trades and worked beside my dad and brother for many many years. Carpentry always gives me a since of pride and accomplishment. I really wish the world and High Schools would promote trades instead of college. Push a pencil or push a shovel... I chose the shovel and have no regrets. I made a lot of money and really hoaned in on the craft. From framing complex angles to finish carpentry, I love every bit of it, everyday. My dad always said: Like the ol saying goes, Find a job you love and you will never work another day in your life. RIP dad...RIP Larry

I just found out Larry is no longer with us. I've been watching his videos for about three months now and framing for four. I think I might cry to be honest what a legend we've lost rip Larry

I accidentally found his videos on YT and watched them all from start to finish. It's refreshing to see a master at his trade with so much humbleness and humor! I can only imagine him chatting away at the jobsite and his brother Joe saying, "Yep!".. RIP brother!

I would have loved to work with that man for a few years, what an education that would have been.

Watching the Larry of Haun over the last several days has created a game changer state of mind for me. From this moment on I'm gonna scale back my habits of routine mathematics and reaching for specialty tools at work. It seems that with a general knowledge of yesteryear's carpentry methods and basic ingenuity put to practice that things can be profoundly simplified. The other guy in this video is a product of his generation, much like myself and thats nothing for us to be ashamed of. Three generations of cookie cutter construction creates an army of cook cutter carpenters ! But i have a feeling right now that there's gonna be a revival/renaissance coming soon where all of us youngblood guys will begin readopting these incredible standards of practice, then things will come around full circle and when we become old and gray we'll all be framing and nailing back together the American Dream just like Larry.
