I'm confused as to why you put up rafters then came back and put on a roof? You wouldn't need that first set of rafters. Also, I would have that ledger board directly to the exterior board using the existing studs to support it. But thats just me.

when you frame 2×6's to the house for roofing don't you remove some of the vinyl siding???otherwise rain water will go between and ROT THE WOOD, IF HE WAS A REAL CARPENTER HE WOULD KNOW THAT, AND NO DO A HALF ASS JOB

Dumb question but do you need a permit for this? It will be going on the side of the house not back yard. In Texas. I’m only asking bc a neighbor built one in his driveway n the city told him to knock it down. He was doing mechanic jobs tho.

Does it matter which side of the post you cut out to carry the load ? I usually notch the other side

Should have removed that section of siding and did it the right way And then ran flashing and J channel.

What I would’ve done, made it higher cut out the window made a door, and you could have a deck😊

Now you have no way to flash behind the siding and because your not tight to the framing that is a hard no for me
