If your model has mirrored objects, it's not necessary to unwrap both sides. You can transfer the UV map from one side to the other.

There's a command to flip an object, it's Ctrl+M, you have to press the axis that you want to flip on, and you can flip on 2 axis at the same time by pressing Shift+ the axis you don't want (to flip on the x and y axis, press Shift+z)

what if i only have one object and i want to copy the uvs for a part of that object is it still posible?
