i personally find using the boolean modifier a lot easier but its always good to know more tha one ways

And here I am, using Boolean Modifier on a cilinder to make holes of flat surfaces as a dumb f*ck.
There are so many tips I wish I knew before a lot of projects I've made. Damn!!!

that way of transitioning views is actually pretty smart, never tought about it

Or use the CAD sketcher addon and cleanup with meshmachine if you want it more intuitive/have easyer control over it

You could just use booleans and make it non destructive, but its a good way to make it anyway.

Nice! The only thing that could improve on this is to find a way to get rid of extra geometry on the surface of the circle.
