(August 2015) Today, 800 million people across the world are chronically malnourished. Each year, malnutrition contributes to the deaths of 3 million children--about half of all childhood deaths. Many strategies have been developed to improve nutrition, but one often overlooked approach is through voluntary family planning. For families, it lets women avoid unintended pregnancies and better prepare for motherhood, giving babies a chance for a healthier life. These benefits to nutrition can accelerate economic development and help nations build a brighter and more prosperous future.
