On my second one! First insertion was traumatic and extremely painful. Found a very caring and compassionate OBGYN who said I should be under anesthesia this time... She was SO right. Infinitely better. Super thankful for her and my team.

The IUD changed my life! I used to be in so much pain every month. I can’t imagine life without it now. The pain of the implant was tremendous for a few weeks but good lord do I feel free not having that monthly pain.

I loved having an IUD. Periods came every other month but extremely light. Hardly any cramps and little to no PMS.

Hallelujah! IUD insertion for me was no problem BUT I had had a natural birth with a 10+ lb baby years prior so that surely helped! But absolutely, my life was downright gory until my IUD.

I remember after I had my son, one of the thoughts I had was “oh no, I’m not pregnant anymore. I’m gonna have to bleed😢” flash forward two years, I have had IUD since and I love it. No periods at all. Praise be ❤😂

I loved my Mirena IUD, and then we took it out so I could get pregnant, and I was so irritated with every period until I got pregnant. I missed my IUD, and will be getting it put back in as soon as I can after this.

I've had 3 Mirena's over the course of 12 years and quit because we were trying to get pregnant. It's awesome! No periods, it's just silently doing it's job. When our family is complete, i'll definitely get another one

I had an iud in the 5 year one. After year 2 I had a pinching pain in my hip and I would limp at the end of my shift. Did exercise pelvic floor therapy etc and nothing helped. I thought it was sciatic. Then someone said they saw a tiktok about having the same and it was their iud. The minute it was taken out I felt instant relief. Felt like an idiot I suffered for a year.

I had very horrible periods that lasted 4 days, stopped for 2 and started again for 5 days before it was over. Very heavy and painful. Birth control didn't help but I got an ablation of my uterus. I haven't had a period since and it was the best decision for me.
You do need to be done having babies to do this because your uterus is cauterized and no lining is created to expel.

ive had incredibly painful periods and bled through my clothes since my first one, but recently something about my outlook on it has changed. after missing my period for a couple months due to health reasons, the gratitude i felt when it came back was immeasurable

WOW! The MOST IUD positivity I've EVER seen in my ENTIRE 49 YEARS of life! Maybe they're improving. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I personally, was the almost bled to ⚰️🥀 variety

Funny because it was opposite for me. I had normal periods before an IUD and then started bleeding HEAVILY and having severe cramps and lower back pain during my period once I got an IUD. It was awful! My gyno kept saying give it a couple months, for most people this stops after the first couple months. 7 months in, I finally begged and convinced him to remove it cause it never got any better. The bleeding slowed down just a tiny bit (still heavier than they’d ever been before the IUD) but the severe cramps and back pain during my periods never stopped for the whole 7 months. I’m much happier on my birth control pill where my periods aren’t as heavy.

second one, iud was so extremely painful for me. gave me cramps so bad that my uterus pushed it out over 18 months after i got it- which i was told was incredibly rare.
