I miss 3DFX days at times. I still own 2- vodoo2 PCI cards somewhere storage. Nvidia IMO has killed off GPU many companies.

That 3dFx part was really interesting, because as a kid I knew them however after sometime they simply disappeared from the market for some reason that I didn't know. Now I know. Thanks!

Why is it that many times consumers get defective laptops with some sort of issue. Don’t the manufacturers test the laptops before shipping ? In your LTT reviews many times you say that the laptop had to be sent back, for eg- thermal issues in ur Surface Book 2 review.

I used to only buy vanilla nVidia cards, but I started getting MSI cards because I really like the MSI Afterburner tool that lets me choose the fan speeds based on the temps. Mind you the tool worked on any nVidia card. I always felt that the fans needed to run faster to keep it cooler and wasn't too concerned about the noise. I also feel like the cards perform better this way.

Hey I still have a Voodoo 3! I love it. There were a bunch of reasons why they failed and the AIB aspect was a large part of it. Interesting how doing everything yourself works for some things though, like Apple products for example.
