Why are there so many religions?

Why are there so many religions? Do all religions lead to God? How can it be determined which religion is correct?

All road lead to GOD as judge but only one leads to the Father and that is Jesus (John 14:6). We will all one day kneel before our creator and give an account and be judge.

Oh come ON!! People ligitimately ask themselves this question and you don't even take it seriously!! "People invent what they want to believe"?? At least have the self awareness to mention that that May be the case for Christianity as well, because let's face it, Christianity might in the eyes of many have a pretty convenient doctrine compared to most other religions. Honestly, it feels like you don't even care to adress this topic honestly.

By this understanding, the newer the religion, the more wrong it is. Given how people "re-invent" god to better fit their understandings.and ideology. Then older religions like Hinduism and Buddhism are more correct ?
The answer is that different civilization come up with different god given their circumstances. Treat God like a lifestyle, a way of life and not as a being.
There might be god or might not be..but no religion is wrong, all are correct given which you follow.

I am seeking the truth, looking for resources. All the religions claim that they are the true one and the non-followers are doomed. How can I know that the path through Jesus Christ is the true one?

It's crazy to me how it seems like the Devil has a religion for everything. Don't want to believe in God? Atheism, with the excuse of science (science is great, but not perfect in various areas). Want to believe in multiple gods? There are a variety of religions for that. Want to believe in one God but have no way to communicate with him or have responsibility? Deism. Want to believe God doesn't have a Son and can just forgive sins? Islam. Want to believe in Christianity but have a part in your own justification by rituals (a salvation by not faith alone but, therefore, works as well)? Catholicism. Even in Christianity, there are all kinds of false-prophet teachings like, you don't have to be morally righteous; you're saved, or, the Bible isn't really the Word of God. I'm convinced that the Devil has made a detour from the right path at every step of the way, and many have been decieved.

Thing is Islam also thinks they are the only way. Judaism also thinks their way is the only way. Which Christ is correct? The one the church preaches? The Mormon church? Baptist? Catholic? They all teach a different "christ" from that seen in scripture. Many churches boast in breaking away from the Roman catholic church yet still worship on the day the Pope decided was the sabbath. Sane with Judaism they chose their day to call sabbath. Exodus shows it's neither. Most churches feel Jesus died so they are free to sin. They claim a God that's never changing but the claim he changed. Personally I think freedom from religion is a better Way. Follow the whole book not just the parts we like or don't like. The Messiah I see in scripture isn't like any of the "Christ's " I've learned about in church. I'm trying my best to follow Him.
